What the Nowon Station dining room feels like at dinner

The Prefers Nowon Station storefront has a green accent that catches your eye even if you're just walking by near Nowon Station. Near the entrance, you can check photos and prices of the signature menu items before going in. I visited in the evening and enjoyed a comfortable meal in a clean atmosphere 😊

Inside, the space is decorated mainly in white and green, giving off an overall fresh and clean feel. Places serving healthy food these days can sometimes feel a bit casual or rough around the edges, but Prefers Nowon Station was more polished than I expected, which I liked.

There's a solo bar table for those dining alone, as well as seating for two or more people. The seating area is kept tidy and the tables aren't crammed together, so it was comfortable throughout the meal. I visited with my boyfriend, and it felt like an easy, unpretentious place for a date as well.

On one side of the store, the country-of-origin labeling was clearly displayed. Being able to check the origin before ordering made me feel more at ease about the meal.

The signature menu items were also displayed clearly with photos.

Ordering is done through a kiosk, so you can take your time browsing the menu before selecting what you want. The menu lineup is more varied than expected, so if it's your first visit, you might spend a moment deciding haha.
What we ordered at Prefers Diet Food and what it cost

🍴Order🍴 Chicken salad pasta combo ₩9,900 (+₩1,000 for combo), beef rosé salad pasta ₩14,900. We ordered these two menus that day and shared them.
Ordering as a combo lets you add a drink for just ₩1,000. At first I didn't know this and added a drink separately, but a staff member let me know, so I switched it to a combo right away. Thanks to that, I got the drink even cheaper 😊 Both dishes came with meat, vegetables and pasta together, so it was a hearty meal on its own.
How is the chicken salad pasta combo (9,900 won)?

I tried the chicken salad pasta first. The plate had chicken breast, vegetables and pasta together, so it looked pretty generous. When you think of a diet meal, you'd expect dry chicken breast and mostly vegetables that leave you hungry soon, but the composition on the plate was more substantial than I expected.

The chicken breast in particular was moister and softer than I expected. It didn't have that dry, chalky texture chicken breast can have, so it went down easily alongside the pasta. The sauce had a tangy, sweet-and-savory flavor that added a nice touch of richness to the plain chicken and vegetables.

Taken up close, the chicken breast had a decent thickness that looked appetizing. Just pasta noodles alone might feel a bit lacking, but with meat and vegetables together, you get to experience a variety of textures in one plate. It felt like a menu that suits days when you want to eat light but still fill up properly.
How is the beef rosé salad pasta (14,900 won)?

The second dish we tried was the beef rosé salad pasta. Of everything we ate that day, this was personally the most appetizing-looking one. With the reddish rosé sauce, beef, and vegetables together, it looked like a regular pasta dish.

The beef was flap meat (bu-chae-sal), with a good thickness that gave it a satisfying bite. It wasn't too chewy and had a tender texture that paired well with the pasta.

The rosé sauce had a subtly thick texture along with a spicy-sweet flavor. You might assume a diet meal would taste a bit bland, but this dish, thanks to the sauce, didn't leave that impression at all.
Eating the beef together with the pasta added a savory note, and mixing in vegetables now and then cut through any heaviness — the combination worked better than I expected. For anyone who wants to eat healthy without giving up on flavor, this style of dish is a good option.
Is Prefers Diet Food Nowon Station worth a dinner date?
Looking for a light but filling meal near Nowon Station, I ended up at Prefers, and overall the store was clean with a relaxed atmosphere, so I could spend the meal without any pressure. Rather than a meal that's only about eating light, this feels like a good place to visit when you want something that's both tasty and satisfying, while still eating clean.
It's comfortable enough for solo dining and relaxed enough for a date, which I liked. I'd like to try other menu items next time, so I'll probably visit again whenever I'm craving a healthy meal near Nowon Station.
