Why I went looking for a study café near Ajou University for wedding prep

I picked Jo Hui-tak Coffee (조희탁커피) while hunting for a good café to work or study in near Ajou University in Suwon. It's been a while since my last café review, but the wedding is less than 3 weeks away, so my fiancé and I have so much stuff to decide about this and that.

Even with SO much to do, I've always gone to cafés to work or study, so I just can't focus at home?! haha :( (I guess the fire hasn't reached my feet yet..^^) So this time I searched for a café near Ajou University that's good for working and studying.

And I found a café that feels like it was made for exactly what I needed!! Maybe because it's near a university, haha. Anyway, even though I went on a rainy day, Jo Hui-tak Coffee had quite a lot of customers. A delivery driver was waiting too, so it seems the café gets plenty of delivery orders as well.

Where do you park at Jo Hui-tak Coffee?

Jo Hui-tak Coffee has no parking lot of its own, so it's easiest to use the nearby Uman 2-dong paid public parking lot! You get 1 hour free, and it's a short walk from the lot to the café. haha

There's an outlet at every table, and the tables for working are big and spacious! Studying or working in a café can sometimes feel awkward, but thanks to this layout we were really comfortable.

A little aside: we parked at the Uman 2-dong public lot I mentioned earlier. When we left, it turned out we had parked for almost 4 hours?! hahaha We'd been at Jo Hui-tak Coffee for over 3 hours, and it was so comfortable that we didn't notice at all. hahaha

The self-serve bar at Jo Hui-tak Coffee has ice water, paper cups, tissues and wet wipes, and the Wi-Fi password and a notice about a Naver review event are posted on the wall, so keep that in mind. haha

also a really big range of desserts and baked goods. I didn't get photos, but starting with the salt bread (sogeumppang, a salted butter roll), there were salty-style ones like pizza salt bread and Buldak mayo salt bread (spicy fire chicken flavor), and sweet-style ones like hotteok salt bread (like a sweet filled pancake) and glutinous rice cake salt bread. (Of course the plain salt bread is there too-!!)

The fruit sando (sandwich) that's popular these days came in lots of kinds too, like mango, whole tangerine and choco banana. haha There's also the fruit glutinous rice cake (mochi) that's all the rage right now, thanks to Han Jeong-seon's viral hit XD

For cakes, there are both cheesecakes and regular cream cakes, and the flavors in each category are really varied too, so it seems like fun to pick by your taste. haha It'd be harder NOT to find something you like at Jo Hui-tak Coffee~~?!

Iced Americano, flat white and glutinous rice cake salt bread, plus the refill

  • Iced Americano ₩5,500
  • Iced flat white ₩6,000
  • Glutinous rice cake salt bread ₩5,000

Out of all that menu, what we ordered was~ an iced Americano, an iced flat white and the glutinous rice cake salt bread. haha My boyfriend orders an iced Americano at cafés about 99% of the time. hahaha No exception this time. lol

And what's nice about Jo Hui-tak Coffee is that if you order one drink per person, you get one Americano refill for free-! I think it's a perfect fit for coffee lovers who come to study. So we happily got one refill too ><

The fork is so cute too~ and since there's a glutinous rice cake inside the salt bread, a cut-in-half shot is a must, right? We enjoyed the nutty, slightly bitter flat white with the crunchy, sweet glutinous rice cake salt bread while getting through the work we still hadn't finished. And that work is still in progress..^^ Which café should I try next? :))
