Why I drove 2.5 hours from Pyeongtaek to Macho Steak Bucheon

Macho Steak Bucheon (마초스테이크 부천점) is a newly opened Chuseonghun steak restaurant near City Hall Station in Bucheon. When I heard Macho Steak had opened in Bucheon, I drove 2.5 hours from Pyeongtaek straight after work. (My parents' home is nearby, so I combined the trip.) I'd been excited about steak since lunchtime ^-^ It's a brand-new place, so I was curious about both the atmosphere and the taste. Here's my review of the Macho Steak I'd been looking forward to.

Where do you park at Macho Steak Bucheon?

The building has no parking lot of its own, so if you drive, you need to use the nearby Bucheon City Hall lot or the public lot next to the City Council. My boyfriend got there before me, and the City Hall lot was already full, so he told me to come to the City Council one. Luckily, there was space right away there!

There's also a Hyundai Department Store and an E-Mart nearby, so if you're combining shopping or other plans, using those parking lots is a good option too! It's not far from the restaurant, so it's easy to walk over.

Waiting and how to order

If there's a wait at Macho Steak Bucheon, you use Catch Table in front of the restaurant! Luckily there was no wait when we visited, so we got in right away.

There's a kiosk as you walk in, so we picked a seat and ordered right away.

Macho Steak menu and the Macho Double Beef Set price

What we ordered at Macho Steak Bucheon was the Macho Double Beef Steak Set, priced at ₩51,800. The set came with a ribeye steak, iron-plate bibimbap and 1 drink.

The steak lineup included a 1-pound Chuseonghun steak, ribeye, tenderloin, cheese, Korean beef (hanwoo) sirloin, hamburg steak and more.

Macho Steak Bucheon atmosphere and seating

Since it hasn't been open long, the whole place was clean. The wood-tone interior has such a nice vibe that it seems perfect for a date.

There are bar seats for easy solo dining, and large tables for several people, so it works for family meals and gatherings too.

How to enjoy Macho Steak

• If you want it more done, cook it further to your liking on the cast-iron pan
• Mix leftover rice on the iron plate with sauce and corn
• If you run short of sauce, rice or corn, they give more for free

Is Chuseonghun's ribeye steak really salty?

The steak I'd been waiting for! For the ribeye, flip it once with the butter, then cut along the grill-pan marks and it slices easily. They also put up a paper screen in front of the steak, so I could eat comfortably without worrying about oil splatter.

I ate the rice as bibimbap with the corn and sauce. I especially liked that they refill the corn and sauce so you never run short!

There were lots of reviews saying Chuseonghun's steak is salty, so I was curious how salty, and it was a little salty! But I like salty food anyway, so it was fine for me.

Iron-plate bibimbap and portion size

The iron-plate bibimbap that came with the set had plenty of meat and went really well with the sauce. At first I thought the steak and bibimbap portions would be small, but sharing between two of us, we ended up full.

Macho Steak Bucheon overall verdict

• The steak is a bit salty, recommended for people who like salty food
• Surprisingly good value for steak
• The restaurant is clean
