Haenggung-dong brunch café with homemade meatballs: Nonchalant Lounge
In short
Nonchalant Lounge (논샬랑라운지) is a European-style brunch café and Western restaurant on Jeongjo-ro in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. The order was homemade meatballs with a French baguette, truffle bulgogi risotto, basil tomato pasta and a side of garlic rice. The juicy, deeply meaty meatballs stood out, as did the truffle risotto, where sour cream and perilla leaf cut through the richness. For a relaxed brunch on a date or with family in Suwon, Nonchalant Lounge is worth recommending.

What is the atmosphere like at Nonchalant Lounge in Suwon?
Nonchalant Lounge is a Suwon brunch café with a warm, exotic mood, like being on a trip in Europe. I went while looking for a brunch café in Suwon with a nice atmosphere, and the first thing I thought when I walked in was, "What is this place? It feels like I'm traveling in Europe!" It felt less like coming for a meal and more like stumbling on a pretty restaurant mid-trip. It looked good for dates, family meals and gatherings with some atmosphere.
I liked that the interior feels natural and comfortable rather than overdone. Sitting at the table, it felt like a place to eat leisurely and chat. These days the food matters, but so does the mood when you pick a café or restaurant, right? On that front, Nonchalant Lounge gets pretty photos and seemed well suited to a date.

What we ordered at Nonchalant Lounge and prices
I ordered four dishes at Nonchalant Lounge that day. Here they are as written on the menu.
- Homemade meatballs with French baguette ₩23,000
- Truffle bulgogi risotto ₩18,000
- Basil tomato pasta ₩15,000
- Side garlic rice ₩3,500
Are the homemade meatballs at Nonchalant Lounge good?
The homemade meatballs with French baguette (₩23,000) were one of the most memorable dishes of the day. First of all, the meatballs are really hefty. They didn't feel store-bought; the meat texture really came through like proper handmade meatballs, and I was happy from the first bite.

Some meatballs look the part but are dry inside, but these were moist with a deep meaty flavor, and I really enjoyed them. They go well with the sauce and are filling as a brunch dish, so this is one I'd personally recommend!
Why try the truffle bulgogi risotto with sour cream and perilla leaf?
The truffle bulgogi risotto (₩18,000) at Nonchalant Lounge is a dish I thought was really good. The truffle aroma rises gently and the risotto itself is soft and nutty, but the fun part was the sour cream and perilla leaf (kkaennip).

Truffle risotto can feel a little heavy because of its rich, nutty flavor, but the tang of the sour cream and the fragrance of the perilla leaf wiped that heaviness right out. After one bite I thought, "Oh, what's this combo?" If you like truffle, I think you'll be quite satisfied.
Basil tomato pasta and a side of garlic rice
I also had the basil tomato pasta (₩15,000) and the side garlic rice (₩3,500). The side garlic rice was really good too, and I dipped the bread that came with the meatballs in the tomato sauce.

Is Nonchalant Lounge good for a date or family meal?
Nonchalant Lounge suits everything from couple dates to family meals with your parents. The food was tasty overall, but I especially liked the atmosphere. When you hunt for pretty brunch cafés these days, some look great in photos but are uncomfortable to sit in for long. Nonchalant Lounge has a mood that's good for eating leisurely and talking, which I liked even more.

So I thought it would be good for brunch on a couple's date, and also fine for a meal with parents or family. It feels right for a special day when a very formal restaurant is too much but an ordinary place would be disappointing.
Looking for a brunch café with atmosphere in Suwon?
Of what I tried at Nonchalant Lounge, the meatballs and truffle risotto stayed with me most. The meatballs were hefty and full of meaty flavor, and thanks to the sour cream and perilla leaf, the truffle risotto wasn't heavy. Above all, it's not a place where you just eat and leave; you can dine leisurely in a mood that feels like a trip to Europe, and I liked that. If you're looking for a brunch café or a date spot with a good atmosphere in Suwon, I'd recommend stopping by Nonchalant Lounge 🤎
