It didn't feel awkward to go in alone and the menu was varied, so I figured it would be a good Gojan-dong pick, and it really was comfortable to eat there.

If you drive, use the Daerim Plaza public parking lot (대림프라자앞공영주차장), about a 5-minute walk from the restaurant. I drive an electric car, so I also got a parking discount.

A New York street-style interior

It wasn't awkward to visit alone, and the interior caught my eye, with neon signs and Statue of Liberty decorations giving it a New York street feel.

It's easy for eating alone, yet the mood is distinct, so it looked fine as a Gojan-dong date course as well.

The self-service corner has small plates, utensils and individually wrapped plastic gloves, and there was a sink for washing your hands.

There's even a place to charge your phone, and I liked little details like that.

Solo order: picadillo taco, gambas burrito and pollo burrito

That day I ordered a picadillo taco (₩9,500), a gambas burrito (₩12,000) and a pollo burrito (₩10,500), ₩32,000 in total. I chose the salad roll for both burritos.

Two burritos ordered as salad rolls

When you're looking for a taco place in Ansan, it's nice that you can pick burritos and poke as well, not just tacos.

Picadillo taco (pork ragout): the spiciest of the three

The picadillo taco was marked with two chili peppers, and I didn't add cilantro.

A bite of the spicy picadillo taco

It was packed with vegetables and went well with the pork ragout, so it tasted great, and the spiciness actually kept it from feeling heavy.

It was the spiciest of the three, so if you want something with a kick at a taco place in Ansan, the picadillo taco should suit you.

Gambas burrito (grilled shrimp): shrimp and cheese to cool the palate

At first I couldn't really see the shrimp in the gambas burrito, but after one bite I found quite a lot inside.

Sliced cheese added a definite richness, and the shrimp-and-cheese combo was perfect for cooling your mouth down after the spicy dish.

Pollo burrito (chipotle chicken): medium spice

The pollo burrito was marked with one chili pepper, so it was right in the middle: less spicy than the picadillo, spicier than the gambas.

There was plenty of chipotle chicken, and I liked that a burrito is easier to eat than a taco.

The three differ in spice level and fillings, so comparing them was fun, and it would work for anyone who wants to share several dishes at a taco place in Ansan.

How well does The Taco Booth pack takeout?

Leftover food packed to go at The Taco Booth

The Taco Booth Ansan Gojan Branch packed my leftovers very carefully. Ordering three dishes alone left a little over, so I asked for it to be packed, and they did a really thorough job.

I dropped it on the floor of the car once, but when I opened it on arrival, the contents were barely disturbed, which surprised me.

So next time I think I could get Gojan-dong tacos to go from The Taco Booth and take them on a picnic. It's worth knowing for anyone who cares about takeout among Gojan-dong restaurants.

Final verdict on The Taco Booth Ansan Gojan Branch

I came alone and ate comfortably, and given the atmosphere and varied menu, it also suits a Gojan-dong date. On a day when you want something different, or you're looking for a taco place in Ansan, The Taco Booth is easy to visit alone and good for sharing dishes with a partner.

It seems worth remembering for anyone looking for a different kind of menu on a Gojan-dong date. Not feeling out of place whether you come solo or on a date is one of The Taco Booth Ansan Gojan Branch's strengths.
