Sinsa udon restaurant for a date: cherry tomato tempura at Tebo
In short
Tebo is an udon restaurant near Garosu-gil, within walking distance of Sinsa Station in Gangnam, Seoul. On a weekend date with her husband, the writer ordered bukkake udon, mala udon with beef, tempura and cherry tomato tempura, and Tebo's cherry tomato tempura, crispy outside and piping hot inside, was the most memorable dish. Tebo made a satisfying date course that led naturally into a walk along Garosu-gil.

My husband and I were on a date around Sinsa Station over the weekend and I started craving cool, refreshing udon — that's how we ended up at Tebo. I've always loved noodle dishes so I'd had this place saved for a while, and once I actually visited, I totally understood why so many people recommend it as a Sinsa must-visit. It's an easy walk from Sinsa Station and close to Garosu-gil, so it was perfect for a stroll after the meal too — a really satisfying Garosu-gil date course. 😊

Why I chose Tebo in Sinsa/Garosu-gil
There are so many good restaurants around Sinsa and Apgujeong these days, but places that really do udon properly are harder to find than you'd think. Tebo's clean interior, which has a real Japan-local feel, along with the carefully made udon, kept me in a good mood the whole meal. I get why it's so well known among people looking for Garosu-gil restaurants.

What we ordered together at Tebo
We ordered bukkake udon, mala udon with beef, tempura, cherry tomato tempura, and a cola. The menu had enough variety that we could each pick what we liked, and even the side dishes were satisfying one by one.

How were the bukkake udon noodles?
The first thing we tried was the bukkake udon (cold udon topped with sauce). Noodle texture really matters to me personally, and these were springy and chewy from the very first bite — totally satisfying. Served cold, it let the texture of the noodles really shine through, and the savory tsuyu dipping sauce paired perfectly for a clean finish. This felt like a dish I'd crave year-round, not just in summer.

The broth in the mala udon with beef
Next was the mala udon with beef, and the broth really stood out. The moment I spooned up the warm broth, I tasted that deep, rich flavor, and with the tender beef added on top it made for a hearty, satisfying meal. If you like udon with broth, I think you'll be happy here. It made me feel like calling this place an udon must-visit wasn't an exaggeration.

Tempura and cherry tomato tempura
The side dishes exceeded expectations too. The tempura especially had a batter that wasn't too thick, fried up nice and crispy, which paired really well with the udon. It wasn't greasy and the flavor of the ingredients came through, so I enjoyed every last bite.

And the dish that stuck with me the most was the cherry tomato tempura. Honestly I ordered it out of curiosity — what would a fried tomato even taste like? — and it was so much better than expected it caught me off guard. The outside was crispy and the inside was hot cherry tomato that kept all its sweet-tart flavor, giving it a really unique charm. It's not something you come across often, so if you visit Tebo, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.

The atmosphere, then a Garosu-gil walk after the meal
While eating I also took in the atmosphere of the place — overall clean and comfortable, good for a leisurely meal. The staff were kind, and the food came out relatively fast, so we didn't wait long. After eating we walked around Garosu-gil, and with such a nice atmosphere it naturally turned into a full Sinsa Station date course. Good food plus a walk made the day feel really complete. 😊

A location that also connects to an Apgujeong date course
A lot of people looking for Apgujeong restaurants these days end up exploring Sinsa too, and Tebo is close enough to Apgujeong to make it easy to visit together. It's well-located for a meal after shopping or stopping by a café, so I'd recommend it for an Apgujeong date course as well.
If you like noodle dishes, I really think this place is worth a visit — especially if you love chewy noodle texture, you'll be even happier here. Next time we're planning to try other udon menu items and the rice bowls too.
If you're trying to decide on a good meal in Sinsa, Tebo should be a satisfying choice. I'd confidently recommend it to anyone looking for Sinsa restaurants, anyone looking for a Garosu-gil restaurant with a nice atmosphere, and anyone looking for a special Gangnam udon restaurant. If you're planning a date, it works well for a Garosu-gil date, a Sinsa Station date, or an Apgujeong date course. Above all, the chewy bukkake udon, the warm mala udon with beef, the crispy tempura, and the cherry tomato tempura you really have to try — it all added up to a satisfying meal. This is an udon restaurant I'd want to come back to the next time I'm in Sinsa, and a memorable Gangnam udon restaurant.
