Dog-friendly Haeundae café: pick-your-bean latte & canelé, Low & Sweet

Today I'm introducing Low & Sweet Roastery (로우앤스윗 로스터리), a lovely café we visited on a Haeundae date, my husband and I, after a long time. It was one of those days when going straight home after a nice lunch felt like a waste. We hadn't been to Haeundae in ages and wanted to enjoy a relaxed coffee together, so we wandered slowly around Haeridan-gil, and that's where we found Low & Sweet Roastery.

What does Low & Sweet Roastery on Haeridan-gil look like from outside?

Low & Sweet Roastery is a roastery café in Haeridan-gil, Haeundae, and the warm feeling from the entrance pulled us in naturally. There are so many pretty cafés in Haeridan-gil, but the charming exterior is the kind that catches your eye even as you walk past.

What desserts does Low & Sweet Roastery sell?

There's a wide range of desserts here, including financiers, madeleines, cookies and canelés (small caramelized French pastries), and I spent ages deciding. The moment we stepped inside, the nutty smell of coffee and the rows of desserts welcomed us.

Every dessert looked so pretty and tempting that I could hardly choose 😂 My husband, who loves chocolate, picked the dark chocolate chip cookie, and I went for the canelé, which I always order whenever I'm at a café.

Can you choose your coffee beans at Low & Sweet Roastery?

Yes, you can pick from three kinds of beans. We ordered an iced americano and a vanilla bean latte, and being able to choose the beans was one of the café's nice touches.

• Choty (Guatemala–Ethiopia blend): nuts, berries
• Guji Hambela Goro (Ethiopia single origin): orange, jasmine
• Decaf: roasted sweet potato, cacao

Those were the three options, and we both chose the Choty beans.

Low & Sweet Roastery atmosphere and dog-friendly seating

Even on a weekday there were lots of customers, and since the café is dog-friendly, some had brought their dogs. After ordering, I looked around for a seat and was surprised by how busy it was, which made me realize how popular this Haeridan-gil café is.

The interior blends wood tones with warm lighting, so it feels calm and cozy. It's not noisy but comfortable, great for chatting with friends and really nice for a date too.

And best of all, I spotted a cute doggy customer 🐶 It turns out the café allows dogs, so someone had come with their pet. Seeing the pup sit so nicely beside its owner made me smile, haha.

Soon our order arrived, and since it had been a while since our last café date, seeing the tasty desserts and drinks put me in a great mood.

How do the vanilla bean latte and iced americano taste?

The vanilla bean latte at Low & Sweet Roastery wasn't too sweet, with a subtle vanilla aroma, and it was really good. It's perfect to have with desserts.

My husband's iced americano with Choty beans was clean with a faint fruity note, and he said it was delicious. He drank it happily.

How were the canelé and dark chocolate chip cookie?

And now, the desserts I'd been waiting for 🥨

The canelé had the classic texture: crisp outside, moist inside. Biting into it released a faintly sweet aroma, and the chewy center was so appealing. Paired with the vanilla bean latte it was such a good combination that it disappeared in no time.

My husband's dark chocolate chip cookie was packed with chocolate, so chocolate lovers will be satisfied.

If you're looking for a nice café in Haeundae or a Haeridan-gil date course, I'd recommend Low & Sweet Roastery. We slowly enjoyed coffee and desserts and chatted about this and that, and time just flew. It was a precious moment of calm in a busy life.

It was a café where we rested contentedly on a rare trip to Haeundae, and I'd love to stop by again next time we're in Haeridan-gil 💛
