Hongdae hair salon for gray root coloring that hides red tones: Andoff
In short
Andoff Hongdae is a hair salon in Mapo, Seoul, about a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Hongik Univ. Station. The visit, booked in advance, was a root touch-up color to cover grown-out gray hair and reddish tones, with scalp protector, ear caps, a heat lamp, about 35 minutes of processing, a shampoo and a tidy-up trim. The gray root coloring at Andoff Hongdae blended naturally into the existing hair and was a satisfying result.

What did I do today? It was time for a root touch-up, so I went to Andoff Hongdae, a hair salon in Hongdae ^^ It's a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Hongik Univ. Station, so let me start the introduction ~~haha

How do you get to Andoff Hongdae from Hongik Univ. Station?
Andoff Hongdae is about a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Hongik Univ. Station, in the alley behind the 7-Eleven convenience store. Come out of Exit 1 and go straight toward the CGV alley, then cross at the crosswalk in front of the Thenewall building (across from Uahage), turn right and keep going straight. Turn into the alley by the building with Kkanbu Chicken (you'll see Boseung Hoegwan across the road) and keep walking until you reach the 7-Eleven!
When you see the 7-Eleven, put it behind you and walk a little way down the alley that leads out from there, and you'll find Andoff Hongdae hair salon~

I liked that the hair service menu and prices are posted before you go in~ They also have a first-visit event going on, so good good!

There's a waiting area outside too, haha

Andoff Hongdae opening hours and payment methods
Andoff Hongdae is open daily from 11:00 to 20:00. It runs on a prepaid membership system, and Zero Pay and Seoul Pay are accepted too.

The street address is 1F, 32-15 Donggyo-ro 23-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, and the lot-number address is 203-52 Donggyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The counter was right there as soon as I walked in, and the owner-stylist greeted me kindly haha

Andoff Hongdae runs on prepaid memberships, so if you plan to go for a long time, I recommend getting one~!

I also liked that you can pay with Zero Pay and Seoul Pay ^^

What is the atmosphere inside Andoff Hongdae like?
The inside of Andoff Hongdae has a white-toned interior and lots of natural light, so it feels like a café. I took some photos of the interior, and the white tone is so clean and pretty~ It felt like being in a café haha The light is so good that it was a really pretty hair salon in Hongdae~

The perm area is nicely done too~ The shop is spacious and comfortable, which I liked haha

You can store your coat and bags in a cabinet, which was nice~

There's a space for waiting too, good good!! But I booked ahead, so I went straight into dyeing without any wait~

How does the gray hair root dye process go?
The root dye at Andoff Hongdae went in this order: color consultation → scalp protector → ear caps → root application → heat lamp to help absorption → about 35 minutes of processing → test, then shampoo. This is my hair before the root dye~! My gray had grown out a lot and there were strong reddish tones, so we decided to cover the red as much as possible ^^

Before the actual dyeing, the stylist sprayed scalp protector on carefully ^^

She put ear caps on me too, to keep the dye off as much as possible~

After we talked through the color I wanted, she slapped the dye onto my roots hehe She was super quick and applied it carefully~

Gray hair is coarse and stubborn, so she placed a heat lamp over it to help the dye soak in!! Maybe the dye they use is a good one, because it had no smell and didn't sting ^^

I let it process naturally for about 35 minutes, and during that time they prepared tea and a snack for me ^^ It was an afternoon when my blood sugar was dropping, so I really enjoyed it~

There's a head spa space too, and I wanted to try it~! You get a massage from head to toe on a massage chair, so I think it would be so nice

I only came for dyeing today, so after the stylist tested whether the dye had taken well, I went to the shampoo room~! The shampoo there was really refreshing, so I was very satisfied!

Before and after results of the gray hair root dye at Andoff Hongdae
After the gray hair root dye at Andoff Hongdae, the gray was covered perfectly and blended naturally into my existing hair. Here's the before vs after photo haha The gray coverage is perfect and it connects so naturally with my existing hair, with no mismatch at all, so I'm super satisfied !_!
She tidied up my hair too, and it was neat and clean, good good~!

I had my gray root dye done by the head stylist and owner of Andoff Hongdae~ Careful work and a friendly consultation made it a root dye in Hongdae I was happy with ^^
