Tteuldamjip (뜰담집) is a duck restaurant in Yulli, Cheongnyang-eup, Ulju, Ulsan, known for duck bulgogi and duck baeksuk (whole duck slow-boiled in broth). MUG (카페 먹) is a mountain-view bakery café on Hyangsandagae-ro in Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju, Ulsan, known for a building finished in charred wood from trees burned in a wildfire. On a weekend afternoon with a friend and her daughter, the writer ordered an iced americano, MUG's signature avocado coffee smoothie, a choco latte topped with whipped cream and one bread, and both the coffee and the bread were good. MUG is a great pick for a scenic drive, and dog owners can use the 1st-floor outdoor seats.
Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets is a Western restaurant on the first floor at the far right end of the outlet's old wing in Jangan-eup, Gijang, Busan. After an afternoon of shopping, the writer and her friends ordered pumpkin soup for 8,000 won, arugula prosciutto pizza for 22,000 won and seafood tomato pasta for 19,000 won from the tablet at the table. With free corkage and a kids-welcome policy, Bueokgan works just as well for friend groups as for families.
