An Iho Tewoo Korean restaurant I picked for our first Jeju meal
What do you all eat for the very first meal of a Jeju trip?

My husband and I love Korean food, and since we were in Jeju, we were craving some good grilled fish.

So the moment we picked up our rental car at the airport, our first destination was Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo (화덕으로간고등어), an Iho Tewoo restaurant that's also great for family meals.

If you're looking for a Korean restaurant near Jeju Airport, the route is perfect, so it's a convenient spot for your first day or your last day.

How are the parking and location?
Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo Bansang Jeju Iho Tewoo Branch has its own parking lot, and you can also park on the street in front of and behind the building. Stress over parking can drain you right at the start of a trip, can't it?
Thanks to that, we could park and walk in very easily.
The restaurant is on the first floor of the Naedo Music Arcade building, next to Vyronic Espresso Bar Jeju, and right in front of Iho Tewoo Beach.
Restaurant atmosphere and the self-bar
Inside, the whole place felt clean and tidy.

The space is comfortable, so it works for couples and would be a fine place for a family meal near Iho Tewoo too.

My husband and I took our seats and looked over the menu with excited hearts.

Another big highlight here is the well-stocked self-bar. Of course you can help yourself to more side dishes without feeling awkward, but they even had tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and nurungji (toasted rice porridge)!
My husband was really happy eating a warm fried egg with the spicy pork. Thanks to the carefully made side dishes and the generous self-bar, we got our Jeju trip off to a comfortable, filling start.

Menu and prices
Here is the menu at Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo Bansang in Iho Tewoo, Jeju.

- Wood-fired grilled mackerel set ₩13,800 - the signature mackerel set, grilled in a 500℃ wood-fired oven so it's crispy outside and moist inside
- Wood-fired spicy pork set ₩14,800 - a sweet and spicy pork set grilled in a 500℃ wood-fired oven
- Wood-fired Jeju silver hairtail set ₩27,500 - Jeju hairtail grilled in a 500℃ wood-fired oven, crispy outside and moist inside

How do the grilled mackerel and spicy pork set taste?
We ordered a hearty set that lets you enjoy grilled mackerel and spicy pork together.

The wood-fired fish, crispy outside and moist inside, made my mouth water just looking at it.

Maybe because it's cooked at such a high temperature, there was no fishy taste at all, and the rich, savory oil and tender flesh seemed to melt in my mouth.

Add the lightly salty spicy pork with its faint smoky fire flavor, and it became a truly neat, complete table.

As you'd expect from a wood-fired grilled fish specialist in Jeju, the fish quality was great, and every basic side dish came neatly plated and clean-tasting, so my chopsticks never stopped.

Wrapping up
Location & parking: As a Korean restaurant near Jeju Airport, it's on a handy route, and the private parking lot makes it convenient.

Taste & set: Savory wood-fired fish with no fishy smell, paired with a generous spicy pork set, is a fantastic combination.

Self-bar: With tteokbokki, nurungji and fried eggs at the self-bar, I highly recommend it as a family meal stop in Iho Tewoo, Jeju.

If you want a neat Korean meal on your Jeju trip, I recommend it~
