Suwon beef BBQ: ₩88,000 1kg platter, 200g free brisket, Sogogi Twist

Today I'm introducing Sogogi Twist Yeongtong District Office Branch (소고기트위스트 영통구청점), which I visited while looking for a good beef place in Yeongtong, Suwon. If you want great meat and good value near the Yeongtong District Office, I really recommend it. The generous portions, the excellent flavor and the clean restaurant all made this a satisfying visit.

How is the parking at Sogogi Twist Yeongtong District Office Branch?

You can use the building's underground parking, so there was no parking stress at all. It's close to the Yeongtong District Office, so it was easy to get to. Even if you're driving, it's no hassle, and I thought it would work well for a family meal or a company dinner.

Is the interior clean?

The interior was really clean from the first impression. The tables are spaced generously and everything looked well maintained, so I could eat comfortably. The pleasant atmosphere kept me in a good mood throughout the meal.

Side dishes and the self-serve bar

The basic banchan (side dishes) come out neatly, and if you run out you can help yourself at the self-serve bar. The sides pair well with the meat, which made it even more convenient.

The self-serve bar was kept clean too, so it felt hygienic, and I liked being able to take as much as I needed.

Menu, prices and the opening event

We ordered the signature beef platter, 1kg (₩88,000).

How was the opening-event brisket?

The free brisket was sliced thin, so it cooked quickly and was easy to eat, and the nutty flavor was excellent. It wasn't too greasy, with a clean, light taste too, so I kept reaching for more. Eaten with salt or wasabi, it was even better.

What's in the signature 1kg beef platter, and how does it taste?

I was surprised by how generous the 1kg signature platter was when it first arrived.

The platter is made up of jebichuri (beef skirt), salchi (chuck flap) and sirloin, so you get to try several cuts at once, which was fun,

and the meat was very fresh. Grilled, it was juicy and tender, and I really enjoyed it.😍

Above all, the price of ₩88,000 for 1kg is unbeatable. The value felt fantastic. It's plenty for a group to share, so I'd happily recommend it for a Yeongtong work dinner, a family meal or a get-together with friends.

You have to try the doenjang sulbap!

After enjoying the meat, we also ordered doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice, ₩7,000). The rich, savory doenjang broth was really good, and eating it with rice made for a filling finish.

It paired wonderfully with the meat, and it isn't harsh, so I could enjoy it right to the end. I'll definitely order the doenjang sulbap again next time.

Overall verdict

Overall, this visit to Sogogi Twist Yeongtong District Office Branch was really satisfying. The meat was fresh and good quality, and I enjoyed it to the last bite :)
