Gimhae mountain-view café: red bean bingsu, tomato scone at Yu Yu Yu

If you're visiting Gimhae, this is a café I have to recommend... I went to Yu Yu Yu (유유유) again.. It's a total hit for open views, with whole mountains through a panoramic window, and I think a lot of people still don't know about it... Every time I come I'm satisfied, amazed and healed, a real Gimhae coffee gem..! This is my third visit, so let me introduce this big Gimhae café.

Where is Yu Yu Yu and what time does it open?

Yu Yu Yu is on Inje-ro near Inje University in Gimhae. It's a bit far from downtown Gimhae, but it's near Gaya CC, so quite a lot of people pass along this road.

• Sat–Sun 10:00–22:00 (last order 21:30)

It opens at 8 on weekdays and 10 on weekends..! Perfect for brunch too. On weekdays it opens earlier so you can have a morning coffee!

Is parking easy?

Yu Yu Yu has a huge parking lot, so it's easy to come by car. Even though it's out on the outskirts, loads of people come, and I bet this parking lot is a big reason why. One thing is different from last time.... they're expanding the place... I mean, people come so much they're building a new building... this Gimhae café with great vibes... you can't skip it..!

Entrance, kids and pets

Yu Yu Yu feels photogenic right from the building entrance. There are also stepping stones, so it's a fun spot for little kids.. haha There are fish you can see and something like a fishing kit, lol. Kids can't help but love it... And Yu Yu Yu is a pet-friendly café where dogs are welcome, so it's also good to come with your pets~~

Yu Yu Yu menu and the seasonal patbingsan

The Yu Yu Yu menu seems to keep getting updated. It changes a little every time I visit, with new items by season and new ones following trends~~ This time I went for the seasonal item!! I ordered patbingsan, which is patbingsu (Korean red bean shaved ice)..haha Everything else is delicious, so no worries.

Which breads should you try at Yu Yu Yu?

When you come to Yu Yu Yu you have to eat the bread.... The eta is good and the cheesecake is really good too, and it's not even expensive.

There are lots of salt bread (butter rolls with a salty crust) types, like Dubai cream salt bread, plain milk cream salt bread and green onion cream cheese salt bread, and the scones come in all kinds of varieties too.

Croissants, sandwiches, well.. they seemed to have pretty much every kind of baked sweet.. This Gimhae bakery café.. its form is crazy, seriously...

What are the 1st-floor seats like?

The 1st floor of Yu Yu Yu has outdoor terrace seats and nicely atmospheric indoor seats. There are even dog cushions...haha

I took a buzzer and went straight up to the 2nd floor.

How good is the 2nd-floor panoramic mountain view?

The 2nd floor of Yu Yu Yu has more seats, and the views front and back are crazy.. The spot with the biggest panoramic window shows the whole mountain... I don't think any Gimhae café has a view like this... Coffee sipped with a wide-open view like that has to be amazing...

I could keep staring at this scenery and it still heals me.... Isn't this what real healing is...

How did the Korean red bean patbingsan taste?

Anyway, a view is a view... but taste matters too, right?? Patbingsan with a beautiful view!! Is it the view that makes it taste even better, or is that just my mood??!! The other sweets I ate with the tomato scone are really delicious too... the best..!

The patbingsan is good even without mixing it. Since the beans are Korean-grown, it isn't just sugary sweet, which was nice... and with the rice cake and roasted soybean powder together... very good.

The red beans aren't only on top, there were some underneath too.. And I'm guessing, but the ice seemed to be milk-based and tasted good too... hehe my mouth is watering...

Near the end I mixed it all up and scraped the bowl clean...!!

But wait, I got way too full eating the bingsu... so I decided to take the rest home, a bit sadly... Yu Yu Yu does takeout, so you can order plenty without worry~~

Overall verdict on my third visit

Yu Yu Yu is a really good café for a date in Gimhae... I'm satisfied and healed whenever I come. If anyone asks me for a Gimhae café recommendation, I tell them they have to go to Yu Yu Yu~~ I'll probably go again, so I'll write about it next time too! haha
