Pohang Songdo restaurant: olive-packed truffle aglio olio at Plan A

Today I'm introducing Plan A Restaurant, a Western restaurant in Songdo, Pohang that I visited recently :)

Where is Plan A Restaurant, and where do you park?

Plan A Restaurant is at 1189 Huimang-daero, Nam-gu, Pohang, Gyeongbuk, right in front of Songdo Beach. You can enjoy the sea while you eat~

There are lots of public parking lots in front of and behind the restaurant, so no need to worry about parking haha

The restaurant isn't a standalone building. Just look for the building with a convenience store on the 1st floor.

Check the opening hours and break time before you go, and note that Pohang Love gift certificates (Pohang Sarang Sangpumgwon) can be used here!

What are the interior and ocean-view seats like?

The interior looks like this. It's a local Pohang favorite that has been loved for over 10 years, yet it's run so neatly, which stood out to me! When I visited around weekend lunchtime it was crowded, and the reserved seats were completely full.

True to an ocean-view place, the view of Songdo Beach right in front was gorgeous, and the window-side tables are the absolute best! If you want an ocean-view table, please, please reserve before you go haha

Oh, and pets are reportedly allowed too, so it could be good for anyone in Pohang looking for a pet-friendly restaurant!

It's a popular Western restaurant for dates in Pohang, and the natural interior decorated with food ingredients has such a nice feel that I kept taking photos~

Facilities: high chairs, self-service bar and more

There's a restroom inside Plan A Restaurant, plus disposable aprons and even high chairs! Spotless country-of-origin signs too, take a look :)

Oh, there's also a self-service bar, and if you need a refill, take one plate at a time~!

Plan A Restaurant menu and how to order

At Plan A Restaurant you check the menu and order on a tablet, and the menu is wide: steak, pasta, pilaf, salad and more, so there's plenty to choose from. Note the message at the bottom saying one menu item per person!

The drinks and alcohol are laid out like this, and in the bottom left of the tablet there's even a Wi-Fi QR code~!

Maybe it's because the owner chef, with 20 years of experience, makes every sauce himself, but the food looked special from the very first look~ Let me show you one by one :)

How does the spicy shrimp cream spaghetti taste?

The first dish is Plan A Restaurant's spicy shrimp cream spaghetti (₩16,000). It came with grated cheese sprinkled on top, great look!

It's a cream-based spaghetti, but a little spiciness is added so it wasn't greasy at all, and it's packed with shrimp, so the texture was great. There were whole shrimp and also lots of minced shrimp, and scooped up together with the sauce it was so good haha One of the best cream pastas I've had...!!

What is the truffle aglio olio like?

The second dish is the truffle aglio olio (₩16,000)! The truffle aroma wafted up as soon as it arrived, and I could see lots of olive pieces.

It felt a bit thicker and richer than the aglio olio I usually have, and the truffle aroma is fairly strong, but you taste plenty of olive too, so I thought anyone who normally likes olives would be satisfied.

What's the texture of the shrimp cream risotto?

The last dish is the shrimp cream risotto (₩16,000). The plate is different from the pasta ones and pretty, and the risotto looked delicious too haha

The texture was just right, not too thick and not mushy, with cheesy flavor on top, the icing on the cake haha The shrimp cream risotto also has lots of shrimp, so I think shrimp lovers will like it..!

Who should you go to Plan A Restaurant with?

Another clean plate today haha Plan A Restaurant is tidy, has a great ocean view, and the food is reliably good, so I think it's an easy visit anytime, whether with family, a partner, a group or just on an ordinary day :)
