Gangnam study café, solo 3-tiramisu platter ranked: Selected Nicks

Do you guys like tiramisu?? I'm a total dessert lover, so of course I do!! I heard there's a big café in Gangnam Station that's famous for tiramisu AND sells lots of different kinds, so I rushed right over!!

Selected Nicks location and basic info

Selected Nicks is a big café near Gangnam Station at 37 Teheran-ro 4-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (1st floor), open from 08:00 to 24:00. Parking is available, and the restroom is outside the café.

Selected Nicks is within a 10-minute walk of Gangnam Station!

It's a big café with six floors in total!

Since it's so big, you can even rent the space!

It's a tiramisu place, so of course there's a tiramisu model. So cute!!!

How do you order at Selected Nicks?

The 1st floor is the main floor and the counter. Order and pick up your drinks and desserts there, then head to whichever floor you like!

It's famous for tiramisu, so there's a whole long row of them~~ such a wide variety, right haha. If you want a single tiramisu, pick one from the display case and take it to the counter.

Besides tiramisu, there are other desserts like madeleines and financiers (small almond butter cakes)!!

They sell candy too. I was kind of curious about it, maybe I'll try some next time,,

Selected Nicks menu and what I paid

This is the menu at Selected Nicks in Gangnam! I ordered the 3-type tiramisu platter for ₩14,800 and a decaf iced Americano for ₩7,000!

(I did think a 3-type tiramisu platter might be a lot for one person,, but there were so many kinds and they all looked sooo good, so I ended up going with 3 haha!)

Selected Nicks floor by floor: which floor is best for studying?

The 2nd floor has a bit of an art center feel?? It looked good for chatting.

I grabbed a seat on the 3rd floor!! Lots of people were studying or working on laptops there, and there seemed to be many university students too! If you're looking for a study café near Gangnam Station or a café where you can work on a laptop, I recommend Selected Nicks in Gangnam!!

How the 3-type tiramisu platter and decaf iced Americano taste

After a short wait the buzzer went off, and I picked up my 3-type tiramisu platter and decaf iced Americano~

The look of it is so good,, I get to eat three tiramisus at once,,

Decaf iced Americano

The decaf iced Americano at Selected Nicks had a bit of acidity, just a plain, standard decaf iced Americano taste!! It was decently good!!

Is the 3-type tiramisu platter too much for one person?

The 3-type tiramisu platter is a serious amount,, haha. It's a bit much for one person and looks about right for 2-3 people.

Banana tiramisu

First up, the banana tiramisu! It tastes like banana pudding topped with Lotus (biscoff cookie). I don't really like banana pudding with sliced fresh banana on top, but the banana in Selected Nicks' banana tiramisu felt mashed in? I liked that better! If you like banana pudding, I recommend it! It was tasty!

Classic tiramisu

The classic tiramisu tastes really classic, though the cream isn't completely smooth, more like something between pudding and cream?? The flavor is classic tiramisu! If you like a basic tiramisu, I recommend it!

Choco banana tiramisu, my favourite

And now the grand finale, the choco banana tiramisu!! I'd seen lots of reviews saying it's delicious, but I'm not really a fan of chocolate banana desserts, so I wondered if I'd like it..? It was seriously the best one!

The chocolate and banana were nicely balanced in the tiramisu itself, and again I liked that there were no sliced fresh bananas in it haha. The tiramisu is great on its own, but the crunchy chocolate on top is the real kicker!! I worried it might be too much, but it was so good. Choco banana tiramisu, strongly recommended!!

Selected Nicks review: pros and cons

Selected Nicks in Gangnam really is a tiramisu hotspot like everyone says (especially the choco banana), and with so many floors you can pick the vibe you want, which I loved. It's also great for studying and laptop work!! If you're looking for a big café near Gangnam Station, a place to study, or a tiramisu spot, I think you should give Selected Nicks a try haha.

• Pros: great tiramisu (choco banana highly recommended), big café so less worry about finding a seat, you can choose a floor with the vibe you want, good for studying and laptop work
• Cons: there is an elevator, but it's slow, so going up and down to the 1st floor is a bit of a hassle
• Would I go back: yes (I think I'll want choco banana tiramisu again)
