You know a place that only serves one menu item is usually the real deal, right~!? You just pick the size that fits your headcount and order.

My family visited as three people, so we ordered the big small (2-3 people) size, which comes with clams, seafood, abalone, and minari (water dropwort) :)

The basic side dishes came out first — simple but tasty banchan~

Warmed up with fluffy steamed potato first

The fresh lettuce salad, seasoned bean sprouts, and acorn jelly were all delicious too!

A mountain of shellfish, trimmed at the table by staff

Next came the main dish — the clam stew (seafood stew).

Seeing it in person, you get an overwhelming mountain of clams stacked up..! The quantity is insane.

Starting with the abalone you can see right away

They gave us a really generous spread of clams, scallops, blue crab, squid and more 🦑🦀✨ Clams need to be cooked just right to stay tender and plump — I always end up boiling mine too long and they get chewy ㅜㅜ

But at Dwaeji Jogae, a staff member cleaned and prepped everything right beside us so it was perfectly cooked, making it easy and delicious to eat 🤤

The abalone is nice and thick ♥

Two kinds of sauce come with it — at first, just enjoy the clams' natural flavor, then add chojang (vinegar-chili sauce) or soy sauce to taste.

The scallops weren't just there for show either — they were in great condition

The blue crab meat was well-steamed, sweet and fluffy 🧡✨

The squid was also so plump

Big in size but not chewy at all — soft and delicious :)

The broth and the 2,000 won kalguksu noodle add-on

You can't skip the broth in this clam stew~~ it's a milky, rich stock steeped in seafood flavor

There are bean sprouts for extra refreshing clarity and cheongyang chili for a spicy kick

And of course you need the knife-cut noodle add-on here*.* We were already full from the huge portion of clam stew, but we added the noodle sari (₩2,000) anyway.

Cook the noodles together with the minari that came out earlier

and the crisp, slightly bitter aroma of minari blends with the seafood broth so well 💚🤍

They said the big small size is for 2-3 people, but maybe because we came for lunch, the three of us ended up completely stuffed and satisfied.

That said, it's not entirely old-school in feel — it's clean and the friendly staff prep everything for you, so it's a comfortable place to eat.

The dining room is also spacious, so it looked good for family outings or group gatherings too

Parking at Bansong Market: where to leave the car

There are two Bansong Market parking lots you can use, but since Dwaeji Jogae Changwon Main Branch is right at the market entrance, I'd recommend the [Bansong Market parking lot across from Bansong Police Substation].

We visited during weekend lunch hours and both lots were full, but since it's a market, spots turn over quickly. Ask for a parking voucher when you leave to get the 1-hour support! (+₩200 per additional 10 minutes)
