Gangneung Jeonbok Haenyeo Village (강릉전복해녀마을) is a Korean restaurant on Haean-ro in Gangneung, Gangwon, specializing in pressure-cooker abalone porridge. On a Sunday lunch with no wait, the writer had the abalone porridge haenyeo set for 2, which came with abalone, sea cucumber, sea squirt, mulhoe (spicy cold raw seafood soup) and cold pork, and the porridge's nutty abalone flavor grew richer once it cooled slightly. For a different Gangneung meal than Chodang soft tofu, Gangneung Jeonbok Haenyeo Village is worth a return visit for the abalone porridge alone.
