Seoulsup pasta restaurant on a Friday off: salmon steak pasta, Brivite

I took a Friday off for the first time in ages and had a fun day out with a friend around Ttukseom and Seoulsup. We wanted a really good lunch too, so after much deliberation we picked a Seongsu pasta place: Brivite Seongsu. Let me introduce it right away :)

Where is Brivite Seongsu, and what are its hours?

Brivite Seongsu is at 5-1 Sangwon 6-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, 1st floor (lot-number address: 13-191 Seongsu-dong 1-ga, 1st floor). It is open daily 11:30–21:15, with last order at 20:30.

It is close to Ttukseom Station on Line 2. Head down the main road between Exits 3 and 4, and when you see Paik's Coffee (Paik Coffee), the pink-signed Brivite Seongsu is in the alley between. It is a 3–4 minute walk from Ttukseom Station, and that easy access was a big plus for me.

How long was the Friday lunch wait?

We went at Friday lunchtime and it was already full of customers, so we had to wait! We booked on the spot through Catch Table (a Korean reservation app), and after about 20 minutes a staff member showed us inside.

The interior was spacious and cozy. With pink, ivory and other colorful tones, it is trendy yet cute and prettily decorated.

So I think Brivite Seongsu is a Seongsu pasta restaurant that suits dates, blind dates and special days like anniversaries. From set menus with pasta, gnocchi and steak at easy prices to relaxed dinners, it is a comfortable place for anyone who likes Western food.

What is in the Beet Set for 2 at Brivite Seongsu?

For the Beet Set for 2, we chose the Greek yogurt salad, spicy jambon risotto and salmon steak pasta, with cider and orange juice as drinks. I also photographed the menu and prices. I hear the 100% handmade gnocchi, crisp outside and chewy inside, the spicy version of jambon-beurre (ham and butter sandwich) risotto in BriBeet's own style, and the crispy-outside, tender-inside fried eggplant are famous, so keep that in mind. I agonized a lot and finally settled on the Beet Set!

After a short wait, all the dishes came out in order. The looks are completely insane, right? T_T

How does the Greek yogurt salad taste?

The Greek yogurt salad (₩9,900), Brivite Seongsu's best-seller, is a refreshing salad with Greek yogurt, basil and tomato, and they recommend pairing it with a main dish. I had no idea cherry tomatoes and Greek yogurt went together this well! Dipped in the sweet-and-sour sauce, it was really delicious. My appetite was kicking in big time!!

How was the signature salmon steak pasta?

The dish I was looking forward to most: Brivite Seongsu's signature salmon steak pasta (₩18,900)!! It has a spicy tomato sauce base, so the strong flavor hits you right away and the savory depth is no joke. Wrap the salmon steak and soft, chewy noodles in the clean, spicy ragù (meat sauce), and a feast of Seongsu pasta opens up in your mouth.

What is the texture of the spicy jambon risotto?

The third dish is the spicy jambon risotto (₩18,900). The deeply flavored jambon (ham) and nutty almonds make it soft yet crunchy to chew, and I think that special texture made it even tastier. It is a spicy, punchy risotto, so it paired so, so well with the sweet-and-sour Greek yogurt salad and the savory salmon steak pasta, and all three dishes were a success.

Would I return to Brivite Seongsu?

If I come to Ttukseom or Seoulsup again, I will definitely revisit Brivite Seongsu!! If you are like me and looking for a Seongsu pasta and Western restaurant with good atmosphere and good food, or a spot for a company dinner, a get-together with friends, or a blind date, do visit Brivite Seongsu :)
