Shower glass water stain remover, tested: AutoGrooming Clean View

Why did I try an automotive glass product on a shower booth?

I was bothered by the white water stains left on the shower booth in my bathroom at home. Stains remained even after I wiped it during cleaning, so I tried AutoGrooming Clean View oil-film remover, which was released for automotive glass. This post is about how I personally used it in my home bathroom.

What came in the package?

The package had a simple blue-toned design. The back clearly listed directions and precautions.

It was small enough to fit in one hand, and its zipper-bag format made it easy to reseal and store after use.

Inside were the oil-film remover and a dedicated towel. It was convenient because I did not need to prepare a separate towel for rubbing in the solution.

What was the shower glass like before cleaning?

I was not able to wipe away the moisture every time I finished showering. Even though I wiped it from time to time while cleaning, the glass gradually became cloudy and made the bathroom look messy, too.

What order did I use to clean the shower glass?

First, I sprayed water onto the shower glass to wash away dust and grime. Then I sprayed the Clean View solution evenly over the thoroughly wet glass.

The solution was a thin white liquid. While I was spraying it, I did not notice a harsh smell or any stinging in my eyes. I rubbed the solution in with the included dedicated towel, going over the heavily stained areas several more times.

After rubbing, it felt as though the solution was clinging to the glass. Finally, I rinsed it by spraying clean water with the shower head.

How did the water droplets and stains change after rinsing?

Even though I did not wipe the area where I sprayed water this time with a dry towel, water droplets did not form on it. It was nice not to have the extra step of wiping it again with a towel.

The glass looked clearer after I finished cleaning it. I also felt that the stains visible when the light hit it had noticeably decreased. The surface felt smoother to the touch than when it had water stains, and once the glass was clean, the entire bathroom looked brighter.

Did I try it on a mirror, too? How much did it seem to last?

While I was cleaning, I also wiped the bathroom mirror with the same product. The mirror came out clean as well, so I was happy with the result.

I normally had to scrub the shower glass several times with difficulty, but this time the cleaning process felt relatively simple. By my estimate, there seemed to be enough for at least 3–4 cleanings. I have not actually used it that many times. I was satisfied with this experience of using a product for automotive glass on my shower booth and mirror.
