Sadang group dinner spot for vongole pasta: Two Find Peter

Two Find Peter Seoul Sadang Branch is a Western restaurant on the third floor of a building on Bangbaecheon-ro 2-gil, near Sadang Station in Seocho, Seoul. A large group table sits in the middle of the room with two-seaters along the sides, so Two Find Peter works for both a work dinner or wedding-invitation gathering and a date, and this visit paired two draft beers and a glass of red wine with vongole pasta and pepperoni pizza. The vongole came piled with clams and the pizza pulled long strings of cheese, and the visit ended with a return booking already made.

Busan BBQ restaurant with galchi sokjeot bibimbap: Donbegi Gwang-an

Donbegi Gwang-an Branch is an aged-pork barbecue restaurant in Minrak-dong, Suyeong, Busan, near Gwangalli Beach. Staff grill the scored snowflake pork belly (nunkkot ogeopsal) from start to finish, and the meal ends with doenjang jjigae and galchi sokjeot bibimbap (rice mixed with salted hairtail gut sauce), which had a remarkable savory depth. With group seating, baby chairs and a self-serve bar, Donbegi Gwang-an Branch works well for family meals and gatherings.

Dongtan big-eater combo: level 3 cockle jjamppong and jajangmyeon

Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch is a cockle jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) restaurant on Nojak-ro by Dongtan's Namgwangjang in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. On this revisit the writer ate like a true big eater, ordering a large level 3 cockle jjamppong alongside a large jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), both piled high enough to overflow the bowls. Alternating between the fiery level 3 broth and the sweet-salty jajangmyeon was the most satisfying combination yet at Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong.

Haeundae Western restaurant with a free review apple pie: Bueokgan

Bueokgan Haeundae Branch is a Western restaurant with European vintage interiors on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae, Busan. Calling ahead and arriving just before weekday break time meant an empty hall for photos, followed by a full course of napa cabbage Caesar salad, basil margherita pizza, kungpao chicken pilaf and a freshly baked apple pie given for joining the review event. Even as a second Bueokgan visit in two days, after the Chinese branch in Marine City the day before, the meal at Bueokgan Haeundae was worth every minute.

Marine City Chinese restaurant for a wedding invitation party

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is an ocean-view Chinese restaurant right on the water at 51 Marine City 3-ro in Haeundae, Busan. Friends gathered here for a wedding invitation party, taking window-seat photos with a bouquet and the invitation before sharing ganpung shrimp, haemul jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and pai hyanggwa as the sun set over the sea. For a Haeundae or Marine City gathering that needs both atmosphere and good food, Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is an easy recommendation.

Yeongdeungpo izakaya spicy seafood yaki udon and soju: Nani Byeolgwan

Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch is a two-floor izakaya on Munnae-ro in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. After a look around the ground-floor bar seats and display shelves and the second floor's two private rooms and four-person tables, the writer ordered grilled mentaiko (salted pollock roe), chicken skewers and spicy seafood yaki udon, and two people emptied 10 bottles of soju. The mood and the food both landed, making Nani Byeolgwan a place worth coming back to.
