The weather's been so gorgeous lately that so many people are heading out to Gwangalli for a beach day, right? This time I visited a premium meat restaurant near Gwangalli where you can taste some truly life-changing pork belly. The meat was bursting with juice, but the tidy side dish spread and the meal menu at the end were just as impressive — I was in awe the whole time I was there.
If you're looking for a filling, delicious grilled-meat restaurant in Gwangalli, definitely stick around for this post!
Inside Donbegi Gwang-an Branch: group seating and baby chairs
Donbegi Gwang-an Branch is a grilled-meat restaurant on Minrakbondong-ro 11beon-gil in Suyeong-gu, Busan, spread across a spacious 1st and 2nd floor. The moment you step inside, a bright, wide-open interior unfolds in front of you ✨

The tables are spaced comfortably apart and everything's kept clean, so you can dine without worrying. Toward the back there's also generous group seating, perfect for a bigger crowd.

On top of that, they had baby chairs well stocked for families dining with little ones. It really is a comfortable space set up perfectly for a family meal, a work dinner, or a get-together with friends.
What side dishes come with the meal, and what's on the self-serve bar?
At Donbegi Gwang-an Branch, a generous set of basic side dishes comes out including myeongnanjeot (salted pollock roe) and mukeunji (aged kimchi), and if you want more sides or vegetables, you help yourself at the self-serve bar. Once we sat down and ordered, this tidy, hearty basic spread was carefully set out 🥢

From the salty, savory myeongnanjeot to the well-fermented, tangy mukeunji, there were so many side dishes that pair perfectly with the meat. Even one cut of meat could be enjoyed in so many different combinations — the side dish lineup alone got a passing grade from me.

If you run low on sides or vegetables while eating, there's a tidy self-serve bar set up on one side of the restaurant. It was very well organized and kept clean, so it was easy to help yourself to as much as you wanted.
Snowflake pork belly grilled for you by the staff
The main dish we ordered, the snowflake pork belly (nunkkot ogeopsal), is grilled from start to finish by the staff at Donbegi Gwang-an Branch. The surface of the meat has detailed scoring cut into it, which grabs your attention visually right away 🥩

What I liked best about this place was that the staff grilled the meat carefully from start to finish, which made things so easy for us! Grilled to a golden brown by an expert hand, the outside came out crispy while all that moist juiciness stayed locked in inside.
I picked up a well-grilled piece of pork belly and wrapped it with myeongnanjeot or mukeunji, and the juice that burst in my mouth along with the savoriness was seriously a work of art.
How the meal ends: doenjang jjigae and galchi sokjeot bibimbap
After finishing the meat, we ordered doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and galchi sokjeot bibimbap (rice mixed with salted hairtail innards) from the meal menu 🍲 The doenjang jjigae was packed with tofu and vegetables, with a deep, clean broth that washed away all the richness from the meat.

Next up was the galchi sokjeot bibimbap, and the salty yet umami-packed special sokjeot sauce mixed with rice, gim (seaweed flakes), and vegetables was truly a special treat 🍚 The savoriness was insane — even though I was already full, I couldn't stop scooping spoonful after spoonful. From the meat to the meal, it was a perfect finish with nothing lacking.
Is Donbegi Gwang-an Branch worth a visit? An honest verdict
I left Donbegi Gwang-an Branch fully satisfied after enjoying meat grilled for me from start to finish in a spacious, comfortable space! From the tidy side dishes to the crispy-outside, juicy-inside snowflake pork belly, all the way to the finishing galchi sokjeot bibimbap, every dish was made with real care, and I was happy the entire time I was there 🥰
The staff were all so kind, too, so I can't think of a better place to bring your parents or host a get-together. If you're looking for a can't-miss samgyeopsal or ogeopsal spot near Gwangalli in Busan, definitely check out Donbegi Gwang-an Branch! I'm already planning a repeat visit soon to stuff myself with that delicious snowflake pork belly and bibimbap again!
