With the rainy season and the heat piling up, it's so hard to play outdoors these days, right? So today I'm introducing a perfect indoor thing to do in Hongdae: TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch.

TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch: location and opening hours

TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch is in the basement of 79 Wausan-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, and is open daily 11:00–23:00. There's no parking.

It was about a 10-minute walk from Hongik Univ. Station Exit 9, and

lush green interior greeted us right from the entrance on basement level 1.

How are the time slots at TAGE Indoor Camping divided?

TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch splits the day into 4 slots. Entry time differs by 30 minutes from spot to spot.

• Slot 1: 11:00 to 14:00
• Slot 2: 14:00 to 17:00
• Slot 3: 17:00 to 19:00
• Slot 4: 19:00 to 23:00

The 30-minute entry gap per spot is the owner's clever way of avoiding crowding when everyone arrives at once! 👍🏻 On weekdays you can use a spot for 3 hours at a time of your choice. But only when there are plenty of seats!

We were wowed by the overwhelming interior the moment we walked in.

True to a camping-themed indoor spot in Hongdae, there are camping tents and the gear is 100% on concept, so it genuinely felt like we'd come camping.

Lots of groups come to this indoor camping spot in Hongdae, so there were plenty of board games everyone can enjoy together.

There's a karaoke machine so you can sing, but!!! you have to sing in front of everybody, haha. It looked great for brave, awesome people to take the stage, or for a group dinner to make fun memories.

TAGE Indoor Camping seat prices and pork belly prices

The seat fee at TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch is ₩40,000, or ₩30,000 for seats without a monitor. On top of that, you can bring your dog, so it seems like a good indoor camping spot in Hongdae for friends, group dinners, birthday parties and all kinds of occasions.

You can also grill meat at TAGE, and the shop sells pork belly cheaply, taking the seat fee into account!! It's just ₩9,500 per serving, so kind, right? The fresh pork belly brought in that day came to ₩14,500 with vegetables, ssamjang (seasoned dipping paste) and everything included!!

Rules for bringing your own meat, delivery food and drinks

• If you bring your own packed meat, you can rent a grill plate and buy butane gas to eat it. The burner is free!!
• Delivery food has no extra charge!!
• But you have to sort the recycling yourself at the end, and food waste too!
• Bringing in wine or Yangju-style spirits costs ₩15,000 corkage per table (4 people), with no quantity limit!!
• Soju, beer and drinks sold in the shop may not be brought in

Grilling 2 servings of fresh pork belly: did the smoke stick to clothes?

We ordered 2 servings of pork belly at TAGE, and the smoke cleared out of the space so well that our clothes didn't smell at all.

We ordered 2 servings, and they set everything up perfectly: really thick, good-quality pork belly with fresh lettuce, radish wraps, kimchi and ssamjang.

The smoke cleared out so well that our clothes didn't smell at all, and the meat was really delicious. Since it's fresh pork belly, it was super juicy, and the combo with kimchi grilled alongside felt like real camping and was fantastic.

Camping can't go without booze. It went down very smoothly.

With so many fun games, you can enjoy games as well as the meal, and you can watch Netflix or YouTube too, so we lost track of time and had a great time!

TAGE Indoor Camping in Hongdae: pros and cons

What we liked

• No weather worries and a comfortable indoor space, so it works for couples' dates, time with friends, company workshops and group dinners alike.
• Great value: open free karaoke, Nintendo, board games and plenty more to play without limit.
• You can buy cheap pork belly to grill, and delivery food is allowed too, so everyone can enjoy a variety of dishes together.
• A romantic campsite in the middle of the city with a unique tent vibe.

What could be better

It's so popular that good seats may be gone at peak times. I recommend making a reservation before you go.

For this much freedom and this many things to do in Hongdae, TAGE Indoor Camping is by far the standout. The cozy tent vibe adds romance, and the varied facilities and spacious room make it ideal for group gatherings.
