Korean BBQ near DMC: next table's frozen pork belly at Mapo Guimadang

Mapo Guimadang DMC (마포구이마당 DMC본점) is a pork belly and makchang (grilled pork intestine) restaurant on Jeungsanseo-gil in Eunpyeong, Seoul, near Digital Media City Station. The writer ordered 2 servings of whole pork belly and 1 serving of whole makchang, added 1 serving of frozen pork belly after copying the next table, and finished with minari and aged kimchi fried rice. The whole pork belly and makchang arrived pre-grilled, and the makchang had no gamey smell but was small. Even for a thick-cut fan, the frozen pork belly at Mapo Guimadang DMC was the most memorable dish of the night.

Balsan Station eel restaurant: 1kg, then 500g more, Jangsuchon

Jangsuchon Pungcheon Eel (장수촌 풍천장어) is a charcoal-grilled eel restaurant near Exit 3 of Balsan Station in Gangseo, Seoul. The writer ordered 1kg of eel with a free pre-meal eel extract and a free bowl of jangchu-tang (eel soup). Staff grilled the eel from start to finish, and the writer still ordered 500g more in the breezy open-window hall despite being full. Jangsuchon Pungcheon Eel is a solid pick near Balsan Station for flavor, service and atmosphere together.
