Sinsa-dong BBQ restaurant: three aged pork cuts at Sansol Sinsa

In short

Sansol Sinsa Main Branch is an aged pork Korean BBQ restaurant in an alley between Sinsa and Jamwon stations in Seocho, Seoul. We ordered three cuts at once — Sansol aged pork belly, Sansol aged skirt meat and jin flower short rib — to compare texture and flavor, and the staff grilled everything at the table. Between the three-cut comparison and the downward ventilation that keeps smoke off your clothes, Sansol Sinsa Main Branch is an easy Seoul Korean BBQ pick.

Inside Sansol Sinsa Main Branch: downward ventilation and atmosphere

Walking in, the interior felt clean yet warm overall. The wood tones brought out that cozy, familiar BBQ-restaurant feeling, and the lighting wasn't too bright, which made it easy to chat while eating!

The tables were spaced fairly generously too, so it never felt cramped — a comfortable space for gatherings or dates. Nice.

What especially stood out was that Sansol uses a downward ventilation system, sucking smoke and smell down and away while the meat grills. I really appreciated that the smell didn't cling to my clothes much afterward!!

Sansol Sinsa Main Branch menu, drinks and corkage

Sansol Sinsa Main Branch has a wide range of pork dishes beyond just pork belly, so it was easy to pick according to taste. From basic pork cuts to a variety of specialty cuts, plus side dishes that pair well with the meat, it made for a solid, filling meal — a real Sinsa-dong restaurant find!

If you're specifically after Sinsa pork belly, ordering that as the main and adding on a few other cuts to try alongside seems like a great way to go.

The drink selection was fairly varied too. Beyond soju and beer, there were various drinks that pair well with meat, so it looked like a great spot for a meal-plus-drinks kind of night, and corkage was apparently available too. With plenty of menu options, it works well for a casual solo meal or a group visit where everyone shares a variety of dishes — a solid Sinsa-dong BBQ spot!

Order the meat, and a neat basic table setting comes out first — side dishes and sauces that go well with the meat, so you can mix and match to your taste.

From sauces that let the meat's natural flavor shine to side dishes to pair along the way, there was a good variety of ways to enjoy the meat throughout the meal. Every side dish was neatly prepared, giving Sansol a clean, put-together first impression as a Sinsa-dong restaurant!

Wanting to try a bit of everything, we ordered Sansol aged pork belly, Sansol aged skirt meat, and jin flower short rib together!

Jin flower short rib: how it tasted

The jin flower short rib had a tender bite and a deep, rich savoriness that just melted in the mouth. Rather than grilling it too long, keeping it just done enough to preserve the juices brought out the flavor even more — so good. The meat quality was excellent, and having staff grill it for us made the whole meal so much easier to enjoy.

Sansol aged skirt meat: how it tasted

Sansol's aged skirt meat has that signature chewy, springy texture that makes it stand out. Grilled just right, it had a satisfying bite that felt totally different from pork belly. You could really taste the clean, savory flavor of the meat itself — great as a bit of a specialty treat!

Sansol aged pork belly: how it tasted

Sansol's aged pork belly came out sliced thick, looking appetizing from the start! Grilled to a golden brown on the grill, it turned out crisp outside and juicy inside, letting the signature savory richness of pork belly really come through. The more you chewed, the more the juices and savory flavor came out — a menu that nailed the basics while still tasting great!

Which cut at Sansol Sinsa Main Branch is worth ordering?

Overall, the meat quality here was really satisfying! The aged pork belly had great juiciness and savory flavor, the aged skirt meat had that appealing chewy, springy texture, and the flower short rib was tender with a rich meaty aroma — three dishes, three different charms, total satisfaction~~!

Each cut had a clearly different texture and flavor, so ordering multiple dishes never got boring, and everything from the basic table setting to the condition of the meat felt neat and well put-together, with staff grilling it all for us — really nice. A place that's great for enjoying a variety of delicious meat with a drink, and one I'd recommend to anyone looking for a Sinsa-dong restaurant or Sinsa BBQ spot!
