Jeongja Station lamb ribs, full of flavor and juice. A Bundang company dinner with premium lamb, a hotpot and a glass of soju is hard to beat. Corkage free in Jeongja-dong: for a work dinner, corkage free is wonderful. The buyers brought so much booze, haha!
Today I'm introducing a properly good lamb restaurant in Jeongja-dong, Bundang: Yangmadam Bangchon Lamb (양마담 방촌양고기).

From the quality of the meat to the side dishes, the special sauces and the hotpot at the end, everything was perfect, and I was marveling the whole meal!

1. A fresh start: the house geotjeori
The house geotjeori (fresh-tossed kimchi salad) is mixed to order, and even the first bite as soon as it arrived was out of the ordinary. The sweet-and-sour seasoning wraps your whole mouth and really wakes up your appetite. It was also perfect for cleansing the palate between bites of meat.
It's made fresh and brought right out. Sweet, sour, salty and fresh.
Crisp and crunchy, it gets the appetite going.
2. How is the shoulder rack? Juicy and richly savory
The star of the couple set, the 450g grilled shoulder rack, was textbook grilled lamb.
- Rich juices: the moment you bite in, the juice bursts across your mouth. Amazing.
- Real lamb flavor: no gamey smell, just deep, savory lamb flavor filling your whole mouth, and you can feel the meat's taste is truly alive.
3. Varied special sauces that bring out the flavor
The sauces served with the shoulder rack at Yangmadam are a perilla special sauce, an herb tsiran (cumin-style) sauce and a barbecue sauce, and this sauce lineup is a big draw.
Perilla special sauce: nutty and fresh at the same time, a fantastic match for lamb.
Herb tsiran sauce: a subtle fresh herb aroma spreads and really lifts the savory depth.
Barbecue sauce: sweet at first, with a slightly spicy finish, so you never get tired of it!
4. A crispy, fresh side: dumpling gangjeong
The dumpling gangjeong (crispy glazed fried dumplings) in the couple set was a treat too. The freshness of the yuja (citron) sauce blends with the crunchy, mild fried dumplings for a really pleasant texture.

5. The ultimate finish: a refreshing lamb hotpot (it calls for soju!)
The spicy lamb hotpot comes out as the finale after you've eaten your fill of grilled meat, and it was simply legendary. Think of it as similar to goat soup.
- Broth: savory and mild, yet bursting with deep umami.
- Clean finish: a slightly spicy aftertaste wipes away the greasiness after the meat.
After a hearty meal of meat, one spoonful of that refreshing hotpot broth and I thought: this is a flavor that easily takes a few bottles of soju!

Is Yangmadam Bangchon Lamb a good spot for a Bundang company dinner?
If you want proper lamb and a perfect broth finish in Jeongja-dong, Bundang, I highly recommend Yangmadam Bangchon Lamb. It works for a date, and it's a great place to share a drink too.
I really think it's ideal for a company dinner. Premium lamb lifts the mood, and sipping soju over a spicy hotpot should bring people closer. I plan to go back again soon!
