Jeongja Station hair salon hippie perm on straight hair: Yeum Hair

In short

Yeum Hair Bundang Jeongja Branch is a hair salon on the 4th floor of Baekgung Plaza 1, about a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Jeongja Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. With completely straight hair and only slightly damaged ends, the writer got a hippie perm from senior designer Moa at Yeum Hair, and the thinning cut, perm and payment took about 2 hours in total. The curls fell naturally without clumping or looking bulky, so Yeum Hair is worth recommending if you want a natural-looking hippie perm.

This time I want to share my story of getting a hippie perm at Yeum Hair, a hair salon near Jeongja Station. I was happy with the short bob C-curl perm I got at the same salon last time, so I had decided that once my hair grew out enough, I would get my hippie perm here too. So this time I booked senior designer Moa and went in.

Start of the hippie perm visit at Yeum Hair Bundang Jeongja Branch

Where is Yeum Hair Bundang Jeongja Branch, and is there parking?

Yeum Hair is in Baekgung Plaza 1, about a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Jeongja Station.

  • 📌 It is easy to reach by public transport,
  • 📌 and parking support is available for those who drive, so access is good.

I walked there, but since the staff also explained parking at payment, I figured coming by car would be no trouble either.

I arrived right at opening time, so I was the first customer of the day and the salon was beautifully tidy. With its white-toned interior and the morning sunlight coming in, the whole place felt bright and comfortable. I could also take photos without anyone in them, which was nice.

The staff all welcomed me kindly, so I was able to start the treatment in a good mood from the very beginning.

Consultation with senior designer Moa: she didn't push a treatment

I wanted a hippie perm this time and told them when I booked. Before the treatment, senior designer Moa and I looked at photos of the style I wanted and talked it through.

My hair is completely straight, and the bleach I had done before had almost all been cut off, leaving only a little damage at the ends. It broke slightly here and there when brushed, but she honestly explained that a hair treatment wasn't really necessary.

This was what I liked most. Salons often suggest one add-on after another, but she said, "I can do it if you want, but with your hair as it is now, you don't have to," which made me trust her even more. It felt like she recommends only what the customer needs, so I could decide comfortably.

A thinning cut so it won't look bulky, and a hippie perm done in 2 hours

After the consultation, we started with the cut. She explained that a hippie perm can easily look too bulky, so she thinned out my hair first so the curls would fall naturally, haha. It made me realize she wasn't just doing a perm but also considering my face shape and hair condition.

After the cut, the perm itself began, and the whole thing took about 2 hours from walking in to paying. I had assumed a hippie perm would take forever, so I was really happy it finished much faster than expected! I think people who can't sit for long because their bottom gets sore will love this too, haha.

A book stand and drinks: thoughtful touches during the treatment

There were many thoughtful touches during the treatment. I had brought a book, and a staff member brought me a book stand so I could read really comfortably. It was the first time I'd seen a hair salon with a book stand ready, and it left quite an impression.

You can also pick a drink from several options, including americano, green tea and iced tea. I spent the time comfortably sipping a cold iced americano.

Bubbly curls... the perm machine is fascinating every time I see it. So that my scalp wouldn't get too hot during the perm, they kept slipping something in at intervals. I liked how attentive that was. My scalp is sensitive and even a little heat is often hard for me, so I was really grateful for this consideration.

The staff member who washed my hair also left a strong impression. Her touch was very gentle and careful, so it was completely comfortable. I'm extremely introverted, so I couldn't properly tell her on the spot how great the shampoo was, but I'd like to thank her here in this review.

Shampoo chair with a massage function

I also found something fun in the shampoo room: a separate shampoo chair with a massage function! I had my treatment in a regular chair, but I've almost never seen a hair salon with a massage chair, so it was pretty amazing. It's a small thing, but it felt like a place that really cares about customer comfort.

The hippie perm result: natural curls that aren't bulky

Ta-da! After the perm was done, what satisfied me most was the curl. I wanted a hippie perm, but a natural style that isn't too bulky or over the top, and it turned out exactly like that. The curls don't clump too much and fall naturally to suit my face shape, so I really love it!

Curling essence recommended by the designer
(Recommended curling essence)

(Recommended curling essence) At the end, she explained the aftercare in great detail. From how to dry hair to keep the curls, to how to style in the morning, to tips on using a curling essence, she went through everything one by one, so it seems easy to manage at home. I had just had the treatment that day, so I haven't washed and dried it myself yet, but I'm looking forward to the curls lasting nicely if I follow her instructions.

My impression is that Yeum Hair isn't just a place that makes your hair pretty, but one that takes careful care of everything from consultation to treatment to aftercare. The designers seem to keep studying and researching trends, which showed their expertise, and the staff were all kind, so I was comfortable the whole time.

📌 If you're looking for a hair salon near Jeongja Station or in Bundang, or you're thinking about a natural, not-bulky hippie perm, I recommend booking a consultation with senior designer Moa at Yeum Hair. Thank you for making my hair so pretty. If I need hair work again, I'd like to come back.
