Ingye-dong gukbap with free extra rice, Suwon: Jeju Eunhuine
In short
Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch is a haejangguk (hangover soup) and tripe soup restaurant in Ingye-dong, Suwon, a 3-minute walk from Exit 8 of Suwon City Hall Station. This visit paired haejangguk with dadegi (spicy seasoning paste) with a friend's tripe soup made without blood cubes and a sweet-and-tangy tripe salad, and an extra bowl of rice was free with each individual order. With black rice in the bowl and plenty of broth, Jeju Eunhuine makes a filling hangover meal worth recommending.

I was craving a spicy, refreshing haejangguk (hangover soup) again, so I headed over to Jeju Eunhuine in Ingye-dong, Suwon haha. It's perfect for curing a hangover, but honestly also perfect with a shot of soju!!

- 🚗 Parking available in front of the building and underground

It's just a 3-minute walk from Exit 8 of Suwon City Hall Station, and the building has its own dedicated parking, which makes it super convenient if you're driving into Ingye-dong, where parking is usually a nightmare.

Inside Jeju Eunhuine: atmosphere and seating
The restaurant is spacious and genuinely comfortable!! The tables are spaced well apart and the air conditioning was blasting, perfect for a hearty bowl of haejangguk on a hot day! There are 6-person tables too, not just 4-person ones, so it's great for going with a group haha.

Self-bar items and how the free extra rice works
There's a self-serve bar on one side of the restaurant. You can help yourself to extras like kimchi and minced garlic, but the best part!! If you order one dish per person, an extra bowl of rice is free ><. Thanks to that, you can eat until you're totally stuffed, no problem.

There's also a portable phone charger right next to it, a nice touch for charging your phone while you eat. And of course you'll want to wear an apron when eating haejangguk haha.

Once you order, they bring the side dishes to you. Anything you're missing, just grab from the self-bar!

And the rice isn't plain white rice — it's mixed with black rice, which made it taste even better haha.
Menu and ordering at the kiosk

Haejangguk and tripe soup are the signature dishes here, and when you order at the kiosk you can customize everything to your taste, like excluding dadegi (spicy seasoning) or blood cubes!!
Haejangguk: spicy with the dadegi already in

First up, the restaurant's signature haejangguk! It arrives bubbling away in a stone bowl, and the portion is seriously generous...

I went with the version that includes dadegi. Let's mix that in well haha.

There's a generous amount of thick blood cubes in there too. Chewy and savory, isn't it amazing?! It's also packed with glass noodles, bean sprouts and scallions, so it's seriously filling haha. The broth is spicy yet clean and refreshing, exactly what you need for a proper hangover cure.

There's plenty of lean meat in there too, which I dipped into the soy-mustard sauce they provide. No gamey taste at all, tender and soft, easy to eat.
Tripe soup: ugeoji (dried cabbage leaves) instead of blood cubes
This one is my friend's order, tripe soup. She doesn't like blood cubes, so this soup is just tripe. The tripe soup has bean sprouts and ugeoji (dried napa cabbage leaves) in it, and the ugeoji is really the kick here. The broth is amazing, and combined with the tripe, the pairing is seriously incredible~~

The deep, rich flavor of the tripe blends into an even heavier, more satisfying broth, the best. The chewy, slightly crunchy texture of the beef tripe is the best.!
Tripe salad: a palate reset on a hot day

We also ordered a tripe salad since just having haejangguk felt like it wasn't enough. It's a sweet and tangy tripe salad that grabs your appetite on a hot day like this, and it resets your palate, which can get a bit greasy otherwise! It's loaded with vegetables like cucumber, carrot, onion, and minari (water dropwort), plus plenty of tripe, so it makes a great drinking snack and is also great for sharing with a group.

The crunchy cucumber meeting the chewy tripe is the best haha.
Is Jeju Eunhuine Ingye worth a visit?
If you're in Ingye-dong, Suwon and craving a hearty, comforting meal, or if you need a proper hangover cure with a shot of soju on the side, I strongly recommend visiting this place! I think being able to eat as much rice as you want for free is one of Jeju Eunhuine's biggest strengths haha.
Alright, that's it from Jeju Eunhuine, done!
