Where Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip is and how to walk there from Gyodae Station

The restaurant is spacious and close to the exit, so if you're looking for a spot for a group dinner or meetup near Gyodae Station, I'd recommend Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip Gyodae Main Branch.

The 2nd-floor hall with booth partitions: how is it for a team dinner?
Walking inside, you see a lot of tables and a spacious interior. I liked that each table has its own booth partition, separating the space. So it seemed like it'd be great for eating with friends, for dates, and also as a group dinner spot near Gyodae Station.

This is the Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip menu board. There's a variety of meat dishes, plus a lineup of side dishes.
Banchan and the extras that go on the grill

This is the basic spread at Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip. The scallion kimchi was especially delicious — it went so well with the meat that I kept reaching for more.

They also prepared a variety of items to grill alongside the meat — mushrooms, cheongyang peppers, bean sprouts, kimchi, bracken fern, and minari, quite a range of side-grill options.
What comes in the Sodangkkae combo set for two
We ordered the Sodangkkae combo set. It's a set for two with pork belly, pork neck, and pork jowl, plus beef tartare and stew (doenjang or kimchi) — I liked that you could try a variety of dishes at once, not just meat.
At Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip, staff grill the meat for you so you can fully enjoy the qualities of the Duroc pork, they said. We just sat back and waited comfortably while a staff member grilled the meat perfectly!

Sizzling away deliciously

Juicy meat, still moist. The pork belly had a moist, savory flavor, the pork neck was clean and tender, and the pork jowl was chewy and savory. Each had its own charm, so I was glad we went with the combo set!

The yukhoe (beef tartare) included in the set
Next is the beef tartare (yukhoe) included in the combo set. I put the egg yolk on top, mixed it well, and ate it with the yukhoe — it was fresh and tender, and the portion was generous too. Having yukhoe between bites of meat also made it great as a drinking snack.

Doenjang stew made with seafood
Here's the doenjang (soybean paste) stew from the combo set. You can choose between kimchi stew and doenjang stew. With seafood added in, it felt even more savory and refreshing. I imagine it would've been great with a bowl of rice too, haha.

Seasoned grilled pork skin
Lastly, we tried the pork skin, which was coated in seasoning — a different experience from plain pork skin. The chewy texture paired with the seasoning made it a perfect match for soju.
Final thoughts on Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip
The combo set was made up of a variety of dishes, so it was satisfying to be able to enjoy so many things at once. The restaurant is spacious too, so I'd recommend it as a spot for a group dinner or meetup near Gyodae Station. If you're craving good meat like I was, I'd recommend Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip Gyodae Main Branch.
