Parents, do you find yourselves wondering what to feed your child every weekend? At our house, choosing a menu that suits our little one's taste while also giving the adults something nourishing feels like reaching for the stars every single time. But this weekend, we found such a great place that the whole family—including my in-laws—came away totally satisfied, so I hurried over to share the details! Both the grandparents and the baby gave it a thumbs-up!

A great place for a duck meal with kids in Gyeyang, Incheon

This time, we visited Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch, a duck specialty restaurant near Bakchon Station in Incheon. I definitely want to recommend it to anyone looking for duck in Gyeyang, Incheon. It was just right for us. We ordered mud-baked duck and one whole charcoal-grilled fresh duck! There were five adults and one baby.

Isn't inconvenient parking such a hassle? At Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch, no parking worries!! I absolutely loved the generously sized parking lot 👍👍👍

The dining room was huge and the tables were roomy too, so it was really nice for bringing a baby! They have high chairs as well! You can order comfortably from a tablet at your table, which was so convenient—no need to feel self-conscious.

Self-serve side dishes and honey sweet potatoes

They first set out the side dishes, and the kimchi and bean sprouts were so delicious that we polished them off right away and secretly went to the self-serve bar for refills 🤫

The self-serve bar also has miyeokguk (seaweed soup) and aprons. And especially, they give you sweet potatoes. Now, I don't usually even like sweet potatoes that much, but I ate my entire portion here and packed some to take home. They were honey sweet potatoes that the restaurant also sells, haha. I'll show you in a bit!

Charcoal-scented grilled fresh duck

First up was the charcoal-grilled fresh duck, which we placed on the grill. The kind of fire you grill meat over is the key, right? Because it was real charcoal, the aroma really soaked into the meat—it was on a completely different level from eating it at home. There was no gaminess at all; it was crisp outside and moist inside, and the adults simply couldn't put their chopsticks down. Do I even need to describe the savory fresh duck filled with charcoal aroma? The juices were incredible!

And put the sweet potatoes in with the charcoal too! They turn into roasted sweet potatoes, haha. You could really tell just how, how, how fresh the duck was! I also loved that salt was set beside us, so we could sprinkle it on while grilling or after everything was cooked.

Our baby can't quite do no-salt food yet, but we're trying to keep it low-sodium, so I really appreciated that little detail! It was delicious even without adding salt!

Tender mud-baked duck main dish

Mud-baked duck with sticky rice that even the baby loved

Then came the star of the show, the mud-baked duck! I really want to strongly recommend this for families with children. The duck itself was incredibly tender, too,

and the mud-baked duck had plenty of sticky rice and nuts inside, so our baby ate it really well. Our usually picky little one eagerly accepted bite after bite when I put duck on top of the sticky rice—I was so proud. With nutrient-packed nuts and satisfyingly chewy sticky rice, it made a perfectly good full meal for a child.

Finishing with mung bean porridge and roasted sweet potatoes

When we were nearly finished with the meat, we ordered savory mung bean porridge. The porridge, simmered thoroughly in duck broth, felt so comforting in the stomach. It was wonderful with the neatly served kimchi, bean sprouts, and pickled vegetables! Every side dish was tidy and homey, so we emptied the porridge bowl in no time. That's why I couldn't take a photo 🤭 We were too busy eating....

But it doesn't end there! Next it was time to take out the sweet potatoes we'd tucked beneath the charcoal. They grill the sweet potatoes alongside everything, and they're total honey sweet potatoes—you really have to try them! The flesh was yellow, sweet, and moist, so they slipped right down as dessert even though we were full. Our baby fell for the sweet-potato sweetness too and ate every last bit with gusto. They have bags available, so you can pack up any leftovers to take home, haha.

This is a place that gets both flavor and nutrition right, so we're planning to come back soon with my parents. If you're deciding on a spot for a family meal this weekend, definitely visit this duck restaurant near Bakchon Station in Incheon! I highly recommend it for duck in Gyeyang, Incheon 💚
