Ansan Italian restaurant for a husband's birthday: shrimp rosé risotto

That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge (그남자의이태리식당&라운지) is an Italian restaurant on the 6th floor of the Dongwon Building in Jungangdong, Ansan, run by two brothers, one of them a chef with 22 years of experience. For her husband's birthday, the writer ordered the young lamb French rack steak (43,900 won), shrimp rosé risotto (19,900 won) and the soup of the day, a sweet potato cream soup (6,900 won); the lamb was tender with no gamey smell, and the terrace view and lighting gave the meal a real celebration feel. That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge won her over once with its atmosphere and twice with its food, and it is saved for a return visit.

Bapkkot Hana Pieotne (밥꽃하나피었네) is a Korean set-meal restaurant on Sinwonsa-ro in Gyeryong-myeon, Gongju, Chungnam, that serves vegetables grown at Bapkkot Farm right in front of the restaurant. On a small-town trip to Gongju, the writer ordered a minari (water dropwort) tteokgalbi set and a charcoal pork stir-fry set, plus one extra minari tteokgalbi, for ₩60,000 in total, and the side dishes came out in two heaping rounds. For healthy Korean food that tastes of nature rather than seasoning, Bapkkot Hana Pieotne is a perfect fit.
