Post-run Suwon cake café: grapefruit ade & fruit cake, Café Diaz
In short
Café Diaz Galleria Gwanggyo is a cake and coffee café on basement level 1 (B1) of the Galleria Gwanggyo department store in Suwon, Gyeonggi. After a run at Gwanggyo Lake Park, the writer watched the pastry chef finish a fresh fruit cake, chose it, and paired it with lemonade and grapefruit ade; the pulpy grapefruit ade and the fruit cake packed with fruit all the way through stood out. Café Diaz Galleria Gwanggyo is a good stop when you want an easy slice of cake in the food court after exercise or shopping.

We were out at Gwanggyo Lake Park when I heard there's a café near the park selling delicious cake and coffee, so we dropped by!! It's Café Diaz Galleria Gwanggyo (카페디아즈 갤러리아 광교점). Café Diaz has several branches in Suwon, and the Gwanggyo one is popular too, with great flavors and a lovely atmosphere!! Best of all, it's inside Galleria Gwanggyo department store, so it seemed perfect for coffee or cake when you get hungry or thirsty while shopping haha
Where is Café Diaz Gwanggyo?

Café Diaz Galleria Gwanggyo is on the B1 floor of Galleria Gwanggyo department store! Ride the escalator down and the shop is right there, so we found it quickly haha The cakes on display came in so many varieties that I couldn't decide what to eat.
After thinking it over, we ordered a fruit cake, a grapefruit ade and a lemonade!!
Cake types and ingredients at Café Diaz Gwanggyo

The counter had whole cakes you can reserve in advance and pick up, plus slices you can order and eat right away!! There were blueberry, fig and chocolate cakes and more, so they'd pair well with any coffee haha They also say they use only 100% dairy cream, so it must be rich and full of flavor!!

Goods and the review event
Café Diaz Gwanggyo sells all kinds of goods, and it runs a Naver, Kakao and Google review event: write one review for a financier (a small almond cake), or three reviews for a cake slice. Love that!!

What's on the coffee menu?
The coffee menu has the Diaz Signature Latte, a Häagen-Dazs ice cream latte and more, so Café Diaz is a great spot for coffee, not just cake!! I remember having the signature latte before near Suwon City Hall Station, and it's really smooth and sweet~

Apparently all the cakes at Café Diaz use fresh Korean eggs~?! So some cafés must use imported eggs...

Food allergy information is posted too, so anyone with a specific allergy should check it carefully⭐️
How were the lemonade and grapefruit ade after our run?

Ta-da! Our lemon and grapefruit ades and the fruit cake have arrived! I was going to order a different cake, but I saw the pastry chef making this one in the back and ordered it on the spot! I can't wait to see how much better a freshly made cake tastes, hehe
For the zesty lemonade they fill the glass with homemade fruit syrup and pour fresh sparkling water on top~ We'd just been running that day, so maybe that's why it was so refreshing and delicious~
But the grapefruit ade was the real kicker~ You could chew so much grapefruit pulp haha At other cafés, a grapefruit ade or tea is just sweet, but at Café Diaz you taste the fresh, bittersweet grapefruit itself, and I loved that🥰

How was the Café Diaz fruit cake?
The Café Diaz fruit cake is packed with fruit all the way inside, so the cream and fruit went together beautifully!! The cream was light yet smooth, with a deep milky taste~! The fruit on top was top-grade too: Shine Muscat grapes, orange, grapefruit, mango, fig and blueberries were all fresh and sweet!!
The best thing about Café Diaz is that every branch tastes good, with no hit-or-miss locations!! At the Gwanggyo branch in particular, you can eat in the food court inside, so you can relax without feeling self-conscious, which was a big plus!!
See how much fruit is bursting out of the cake?! haha Next time I'll definitely try other cakes and the signature coffee too!! If you visit Gwanggyo Lake Park, stop by Café Diaz for a cold coffee and delicious cake!!
