Italian lunch for three in Pocheon: beef tomato pasta wins, Eoneu Dal

In short

Eoneu Dal (어느달) is a standalone Italian restaurant on Jeongmundong-gil in Pocheon, Gyeonggi, and a handy pasta stop on a trip to Pocheon Art Valley. Three women arrived 10 minutes before opening, were fifth in line, and ordered beef tomato pasta (19,000 won), garlic shrimp pasta (19,000 won) and shrimp pilaf (18,000 won). Of the three, Eoneu Dal's beef tomato pasta came first for looks, taste and value.

Lately I've been finding good-looking restaurants on social media and heading out with friends on little food trips to the area around them, and my everyday happiness level is way up. Today I visited Eoneu Dal (어느달), a Pocheon Art Valley restaurant. It's conveniently located for trips to Pocheon Art Valley, Dongducheon Nolja Forest and Dongducheon Natural Recreation Forest, whether you're on a couple's date, a family outing or bringing your parents. The atmosphere and food quality are high, so honestly, this Pocheon pasta restaurant should leave no regrets. Here's my visit!

How long is the wait at Eoneu Dal if you arrive before opening?

White standalone building of Eoneu Dal in Pocheon

Eoneu Dal opens at 11:30. We arrived 10 minutes before opening and there were already 4 groups ahead of us, so we were fifth. Popular with locals and with people who found it on social media as a Pocheon restaurant with great value, it's a white, rectangular standalone building. We hurried over with my friends, and it turned out to be 10 minutes before opening.

Even before opening, more than half of the generous parking lot was already filled with the cars of diligent diners. On weekdays you won't have to worry about parking. There's also parking at the building behind the restaurant.

Shall we go in together?

Tabling waiting registration area just inside the Eoneu Dal entrance

Right to the left as you enter Eoneu Dal is the Tabling kiosk. Before opening, you register for the wait in order of arrival, and once it opens, staff guide you in by turn. Seeing 4 groups ahead of us and being fifth, we were like, "Wow, Eoneu Dal is seriously popular," just guessing at how busy it would get. After opening, if there's no wait, you can go straight in.

After staff seated us, water was brought right away, and even the water bottle was out of the ordinary at Eoneu Dal. You could feel the care put into even the water, and the three of us said in unison, "What is this place~~?"

What are the interior and seating like at Eoneu Dal?

Even before 12:00 the restaurant was packed, which proves it's an atmospheric Pocheon restaurant. The central hall was full, but both sides of the hall still had empty seats, so luckily I could take photos. The innermost tables are for two, so that spot is good for couples who want a quiet, cozy date.

The space decorated with flowers has a real photo-zone vibe.

To the right of the entrance there's a private room that's good for group reservations. When we left after eating, soldiers were having a meal there. There's a military base nearby, so apparently soldiers visit often.

The waiting area is inside the restaurant too, so you don't have to wait outside, which shows how considerate Eoneu Dal is toward guests.

The high chairs feel more comfortable than at other places and there are plenty of them, so you can tell lots of families come to Eoneu Dal on outings.

The plain space above the backs of the guests' chairs is decorated with flowers, which made the interior feel more upscale and warm.

How ordering works at Eoneu Dal, plus the starter bread

You order by QR code at Eoneu Dal, and as soon as the order went in, staff brought bread and pickles for each person, plus our drinks. We ordered 2 drinks but they brought 3 ice cups, and that thoughtful touch from the staff really got me~~~

I tried them one by one, and the slightly warmed bread is nutty enough that you don't need jam or butter.

The dishes didn't all arrive at once but one after another, so I could still get a photo of the table full. The quality of the food, plating almost too pretty to eat, generous ingredients and value are insane, right?

A plate of garlic shrimp pasta at Eoneu Dal

Eoneu Dal garlic shrimp pasta with minari (Korean water parsley)

The first dish out, the garlic shrimp pasta (₩19,000), was so overwhelming just to look at that I was speechless. It's topped with peeled shrimp and whole shrimp, evenly grilled mushrooms and zucchini, and under the garlicky pasta there's minari (water dropwort, a fragrant spring herb); the staff kindly explained that we should mix it well. Even looking back, "Wow~~ the look of it is crazy."

In the garlic-rich sauce, the minari's scent spreads subtly so the oil never feels heavy, and with the grilled shrimp, mushrooms and zucchini, I couldn't stop saying "It's so good. So good" the whole time I ate.

Eoneu Dal beef tomato pasta: for anyone who dislikes rich, creamy pasta

The beef tomato pasta (₩19,000) is pasta with moderately grilled beef on top of a well-reduced tomato sauce with added spiciness. Seeing the plating, I was twice as moved as by the first pasta.

I mixed the pasta and beef well with the sauce and put it on my own plate.

The beef is grilled just right and sliced thin, so it's tender and goes down easily, which really moved me. Eating the tomato sauce's tang and slight heat with the pasta, I'd strongly recommend the beef tomato pasta as a no-regret choice for anyone who skips pasta because it's too rich.

Eoneu Dal shrimp pilaf piled with shrimp

Eoneu Dal shrimp pilaf: how much shrimp do you get?

The shrimp pilaf (₩18,000) is fried rice piled with shrimp, and there was really a lot of shrimp.

When pasta noodles alone feel like something's missing, the shrimp pilaf made it look good and filling, so it felt like a properly satisfying meal.

Our top pick of the three: Eoneu Dal beef tomato pasta

It's really hard to rank the three (beef tomato pasta, garlic shrimp pasta and shrimp pilaf), but if I had to pick one, the beef tomato pasta was the best, with nothing to fault in looks, quality, taste or value. We ate so~~~ well!!!

Coming out to pay, I noticed that Eoneu Dal has a certificate as a "Taste & Style" restaurant under the "Communication and Trust, Citizen-Centered Pocheon" program. It's designated for one year, June 2025 to July 2026, and after today's meal I think it'll be designated again. Eoneu Dal has the taste and style to deserve it.

How do you book a table at Eoneu Dal?

Eoneu Dal takes reservations through Catch Table with no phone call needed, so if you're visiting on a weekend or public holiday, I recommend reserving through Catch Table. If you need anything during your meal, press the staff call button in the QR page and they'll respond right away, so use the QR freely~~~

If you're planning a family outing or a date to Pocheon Art Valley, Dongducheon Nolja Forest or Dongducheon Natural Recreation Forest, definitely stop by Eoneu Dal. With its refined interior and emotional mood, and every dish nailing both looks (style) and quality (taste), it's a Pocheon restaurant with great value that people of all ages will enjoy. I strongly recommend making happy memories here with your loved ones.
