Pocheon date restaurant on a Saturday: minari crab risotto, Eoneu Dal

What is Eoneu Dal in Pocheon, and why did we choose it?

Eoneu Dal (어느달) is a Western restaurant at 54 Jeongmundong-gil, Pocheon, Gyeonggi. It takes card and cash, and it has parking. My boyfriend and I hadn't had a Western-style date in ages, so I went looking, and the atmosphere looked so classy, clean and pretty, and the food looked so gorgeous, that I decided to go.

Eoneu Dal is a bit deep inside Pocheon, and the restaurant stands all by itself by the road. It's a big white single-story building, and it has a nice feel from the outside already.

Is parking easy at Eoneu Dal?

There are parking lots in front of and behind the building, so spaces weren't a problem. I visited at 1 p.m. on a Saturday and the restaurant was packed, but there was still a spot.

What are the interior and seating like at Eoneu Dal?

The interior is white and wood, so clean and pretty!! When you walk in there's a kitchen with tables in front of it. The cooking area is hidden, while the drink-making area is open.

A low partition in front of the kitchen separates the space once more, and the tables stretch out in a line. There were also one or two tables behind the transparent partition, so I'd guess more than 10 tables in total! The space is wide and relaxed, and one whole side of the restaurant is a big window, so it felt open, not stuffy!

Also, the flower decoration on top of the partition was so pretty, even though it was artificial. It was great for photos too!

There's also a corner of the restaurant decorated like a wedding studio! If there hadn't been people, I would have wanted to take photos there~ It had been a while since I'd been to a really pretty, clean restaurant(?), so I was in a good mood from the start! There's a partition near the entrance, and behind it is one group table!

Saturday lunch at Eoneu Dal: waiting and reservations

For the waitlist, you register on the tablet in front of the counter once you arrive, and reservations can be made on Catch Table. I went right at Saturday lunch peak time, and the seats were full but I could get in. If I'd been a little later, though, I might have had to wait!

I had made a reservation, so a seat had been set aside for us!

Eoneu Dal menu and price range

You view the menu by QR code, order by QR code, and even call the staff by QR code! These days you can't live without a phone~

There was a wide variety on the menu, and the prices were just like Western restaurants in Seoul these days!

There was a variety of wine and drinks too. There were three ades including a omija (five-flavor berry) ade, but at ₩7,000 they felt pricey, so I skipped them and ordered a cola and a draft beer. The draft beer is ₩3,000!! I'll skip the rest of the drinks~~ (The food arrived while I was taking screenshots, so I couldn't finish, and now it's expired, sorry ㅜㅜ)

What we ordered for two at Eoneu Dal

We ordered the crab risotto, the garlic shrimp pasta and the small salmon salad, plus a cola and a draft beer. Since I had reserved, the table was already set, and even the table was all white and so clean~

The water is pretty too. I think they put lemon and mint in it!

For the bread before the meal we got two salt breads! I think they just bought frozen dough and heated it up. The taste was so-so~

Salmon salad M, 12,000 won: plenty of oriental dressing

The salmon salad M is ₩12,000 and came out first, really fast. Red salmon on top of fresh green salad makes such a pretty color combination, right?

You can choose one of two sauces, and I went with oriental. It was drizzled on generously, so it wasn't bland and it was delicious. Sometimes when a salad comes with just a little sauce I really hate it, but here they gave plenty, so I could dip all the vegetables in the sauce.

They also put wasabi on one side, so you can eat the salmon with wasabi too. You get about 6 big pieces of salmon! ₩12,000 seems like a decent price.

Sauce, sauce, and more sauce. The vegetables included red chard(?), lettuce, romaine and so on, and they were fresh! There were also two peeled cherry tomatoes and two peeled orange segments. The salmon looked really fresh in color too! Totally satisfied with the salad!

Crab risotto, 22,000 won: crab flavor and minari, no cream

The crab risotto came out second. It's ₩22,000, and it has a whole 5 pieces of crab in it!

When it arrived I smelled it, and it was full of real crab aroma~ A really strong crab smell! It was also packed with minari (water dropwort, a leafy herb), and there was a little chili in it, but I could barely taste any spice at all!

From the very first bite, the crab and minari fragrance fills your mouth! It's a taste that's new yet familiar, and maybe because there's quite a lot of minari, it reminded me of the porridge you eat after shabu-shabu (hot pot). Since it's a risotto, I expected a cream sauce base, but there was no cream sauce, and it seemed to be seasoned with crab flavor.

Packed with minari! The rice kept its texture, quite a bit for a risotto. There was hardly any sauce, which was a little disappointing. But it tasted good! If you like crab, you'll like this taste! Somehow familiar yet new! There's tomato here and there too, so it has a slightly fresh tang.

Garlic shrimp pasta, 19,000 won: mild garlic, less greasy oil pasta

The garlic shrimp pasta is ₩19,000 and is an oil-based pasta! I think it's one of Eoneu Dal's signature dishes. The look is amazing!!

How did they ever come up with plating like this! It looks sooo classy and expensive.

There are pine mushrooms, shrimp, zucchini, pine mushrooms, shrimp, in that order.

It's a garlic shrimp pasta, so I guess they mince the garlic and mix it in. I couldn't see any garlic. And even after a bite, the garlic smell wasn't strong! This oil pasta was also a taste I'd never had before. It was the basic oil pasta taste, but with less of the greasiness of the oil! So it went down easily!

When I loosened the noodles there were a lot of them. The portions were big for both dishes. Even ordering just two isn't too little! Twirling the noodles and eating them with the vegetables is clean and goes so well together. The zucchini wasn't cooked soft, so it kept its texture, and it tasted even better with the noodles. The seasoning was just right too, so it's delicious!

Under the plated vegetables and shrimp there's lots of minari! But the minari scent was weaker than in the crab risotto! Maybe because of the garlic, the minari smell was weaker!

Maybe because minced garlic goes in, the oil wasn't clear. Even so, the garlic smell wasn't that strong! Oil pasta usually has a strong garlic smell, so if you don't like garlic, you'd probably like this even more!

Is Eoneu Dal a good date restaurant in Pocheon?

One of Eoneu Dal's strengths is that it's visually delightful! The moment you walk in, the interior makes you feel like you've come to a classy restaurant, and when the beautifully plated food arrives, you start off in a good mood. Just like the saying that you eat with your eyes!

I was a little worried because there are many places that are pretty but not tasty, but the worry was for nothing, and it was delicious. The dishes I ordered were a bit new, but they tasted new and familiar at once! Familiar, so no resistance, and new, so even more delicious, I think.

Eoneu Dal is tasty and pretty, perfect for a date and perfect for an outing with family too! There's a reason it has so many customers!! I'm planning to visit again with my mom (❛ᴗ❛(❛ᴗ❛♡ If you're looking for a great date restaurant in Pocheon, or a Western restaurant with a nice atmosphere, I recommend Eoneu Dal :)
