Songdo Central Park bakery from Yu Quiz: family-of-four haul, Tomoru

In short

Tomoru Bakery (송도토모루베이커리) is a neighborhood bakery near Songdo Central Park in Yeonsu, Incheon, that drew even more attention after winning the 2026 Bakery World Cup and appearing on the TV show Yu Quiz on the Block. On this visit, a family of four filled a bag with 3 salt breads, milk bread, sweet pumpkin rice bread, a Dubai chocolate baguette and soboro bread (Korean streusel-topped bun) to share. Verdict: Tomoru Bakery's salt bread and milk bread go in the bag every time, and the Dubai chocolate baguette is best enjoyed with a glass of milk.

Hi everyone! It's Sunmu :)

Today I want to introduce Tomoru Bakery in Songdo, a place my family visits all the time haha.

This isn't one of those "I heard it's famous lately so I tried it" spots. It's just been our family's favorite bakery from way back lol. Whenever we want bread at home we naturally stop by, we go when buying snacks for the kids, and on weekend mornings when someone says "should we get some bread?" this is almost always the first place that comes to mind.

This time too, I was just passing by and couldn't resist, so I went in and packed a really heavy bag lol.

Tomoru Bakery was already famous in the neighborhood near Songdo Central Park, but it's become even more talked about recently. When Korea's national team won the 2026 Bakery World Cup, the baker connected to Tomoru got attention too, and the winning team even appeared on Yu Quiz on the Block!

We were already eating here before it aired on TV, so we've developed this weird resident pride of "see, I told you this place was good" haha.

With weather this nice these days, sitting outside to eat is really lovely haha.

Since I went before Chuseok, there were gift sets like this too! They'd be great to give to friends haha.

It's not a huge, massive bakery, but it's our neighborhood bakery that has all the good stuff!

Tomoru also puts a lot of care into healthier bread, and it's known as a bakery that offers reduced-sugar breads. As a bread-loving family, if we're going to eat it often anyway, a place that pays attention to things like this definitely wins us over more.

The cakes here are seriously delicious too!! The cream isn't too sweet and it's soft — highly recommend. We buy them often too~~

Please check out my earlier cake review too!! Haha, this one is my earlier bread-haul review!!

There's so much delicious bread that I'm always torn haha. I'm such a regular that I already know everything is good, which somehow makes it harder? I called my mother-in-law to say we were at Tomoru and she immediately ordered the sweet pumpkin rice bread lol. A true neighborhood favorite!

The 5 breads we packed this time

Another full haul lol. This time we bought:

  • 3 salt breads
  • Milk bread
  • Sweet pumpkin rice bread
  • Dubai choco baguette
  • Soboro bread

That's what we got! Going in, I definitely said "let's just buy a few"... but is that even possible at a bakery lol. Once you pick up a tray and do a lap, before you know it it's full of bread.

Still, once we bring it home, all four of us — my spouse, our two kids and me — dive in, so it really disappears fast, ugh.

Our family's staple, the salt bread

Tomoru's salt bread is always 3, no exceptions. Buy just one and there'll be a fight lol. It's not the crispy, cracker-like style on the outside — the inside is moderately chewy, matching well with the nutty flavor of butter and a salty taste.

With the first bite, the nutty aroma of the bread rises first, and as you chew the buttery flavor comes through subtly, finishing with just the right saltiness. So you just keep reaching for more even eaten plain.

The kids really love the salt bread too, so it's one of the first things to disappear once we bring it home haha. I also like warming it up slightly — once it's warm the buttery aroma comes alive even more, and it's really delicious.

The Dubai choco baguette is amazing...!!

And the Dubai choco baguette, right on trend these days! Choco baguette is delicious on its own, and Dubai chocolate is delicious on its own, but put the two together... how could I not buy it out of curiosity lol. I showed it off on my Instagram story and got flooded with DMs asking about it lol.

The baguette exterior isn't rock-hard — it has just the right chewiness when you bite in. Add to that the deep sweetness of rich chocolate and the nutty, crispy texture unique to Dubai chocolate, and this definitely feels more like a dessert than a basic bread.

Behind the deep sweetness of the chocolate, a nutty flavor rises up too, so it's definitely more fun to chew than a plain sweet choco bread. Eaten alongside an iced Americano... you just keep tearing off pieces, ugh.

But personally, since it's a baguette, I felt milk or a caffe latte suited it even better. Iced Americano is good too, but I really recommend trying it with milk!!

Mother-in-law's favorite: sweet pumpkin rice bread

The sweet pumpkin rice bread has the chewy texture unique to rice bread, plus the mild, natural sweetness of pumpkin! Rather than a sweetness that hits you right away like a typical sweet snack bread, as you chew you get the cozy, savory flavor unique to sweet pumpkin.

Inside texture of the sweet pumpkin rice bread

The texture is a bit different from regular wheat bread too — chewier and heavier. So one piece is surprisingly filling. It's good with coffee, but I personally think breads like this are best with milk lol. It's my mother-in-law's favorite bread, so I bought one for us and one for her.

The milk bread is delicious even torn and eaten plain

And the milk bread that our family buys consistently! Sliced bread might seem like nothing much, but you can tell right away if a place is truly good just by eating it plain. Tomoru's milk bread has a very soft, moist texture.

When you tear it by hand, the soft texture follows along, and when you put it in your mouth you get a subtle milk aroma and a nutty flavor. It's not a heavily sugared sweet bread — it's plain yet soft, so you don't even need jam, it's great just torn and eaten.

It's also great given to the kids with milk in the morning, and toasted slightly with a pat of butter on top, it's a completely different flavor haha. They say a bakery that does the basics well is a truly good bakery, and eating this milk bread makes that fairly convincing lol.

Soboro bread: the classic is still the best

And last, the nostalgic soboro bread (crumble-topped sweet bun). These days bakeries have all these fancy, unusual breads. But even so, sometimes this kind of basic soboro bread is exactly what you crave haha.

On top there's a bumpy, nutty-sweet crumble, and the bread inside is soft, so the two textures work great together when eaten at once. There's also the temptation to just pick off the crumble part lol.

It's nutty with a subtle sweetness, so it's really easy to eat with coffee or milk. It's a bread that both kids and adults can enjoy without much disagreement, so whenever we buy one of these basics along with everything else, it ends up being the first thing to disappear.

In the end, all four of us devoured it again in no time lol. Once we got home and opened the bag, the kids dove right in, and my wife and I started saying "let's just eat a little of this" and tearing off pieces one by one... but that "a little" is always the problem lol.

Tearing off salt bread, cutting up the Dubai choco baguette, tearing off a slice of milk bread, tasting the sweet pumpkin rice bread... before you know it only the empty bag is left on the table, ugh. But it's still nice, that time when the whole family shares different things saying "this one's good," "try this one too" haha.

Famous now, but still our neighborhood favorite bakery

Even with the extra attention after appearing on Yu Quiz, for our family, Tomoru Bakery in Songdo still mostly feels like "our neighborhood bakery we go to when we want bread."

From everyday basics like salt bread and milk bread, to healthier-feeling breads like the sweet pumpkin rice bread, to trend-reflecting items like the Dubai choco baguette, there's enough variety that it's fun to pick something a little different each time. But in the end, the salt bread and milk bread always end up in the bag lol.

Even without a famous title, it was already delicious enough that our family kept coming back, and hearing about the world competition win made us think "I guess we weren't crazy to love this place after all" haha.

If you're in Songdo looking for bread the whole family can enjoy easily, try stopping by Tomoru Bakery. As for us, well... I'm pretty sure we'll be walking home with another bread bag next week lol.
