Jangsodam Eel and Beef Buffet Cheongna Main Branch is an all-you-can-eat eel and beef spot across from the Canalway Cheongna Umilin Strauss apartments. Parking is free for 2 hours on floors 4-6 of the building.

Is Jangsodam easy to visit with a baby? Playroom and roomy tables

The whole place feels spacious and pleasant. Mostly 4-person tables are spread out widely, so eating is comfortable, and the big tables suit group gatherings, company dinners and family get-togethers.

One side of the restaurant has a playroom where kids can run around, and our baby had a blast. With the playroom there, mom and dad can eat in peace for a bit, which was sooo nice.

What meat and food is on the Jangsodam self-bar?

As an all-you-can-eat buffet should, the Jangsodam Cheongna self-bar is large and kept clean.

The range of meat is huge. Besides the all-you-can-eat eel and beef, there is a separate pork zone with marinated pork galbi, dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken), salt-grilled chicken, pork skin, pork belly, pork neck and more. Shrimp, Chinese, Western and Korean snack-bar dishes are laid out too, so the self-bar alone can fill you up.

Free ramyeon, rice, drinks and ice cream at Jangsodam

At most buffets the sides beyond the main menu cost extra, but at Jangsodam you can have Han River ramyeon, steamed rice, drinks and ice cream, all free. Best value!!!

There are plenty of fresh lettuce wraps and vegetables, plus a good range of banchan (side dishes) that go well with eel and meat.

What eel does Jangsodam serve, and how much are the sets?

Jangsodam Cheongna Main Branch only serves domestic Japonica freshwater eel, prepared with an immersion-aging method. On Mondays you can get 1 kg of eel for around ₩20,000, a great deal, and there are set menus of eel, beef, chuck ribs, dakgalbi and more, so you can choose to taste. Beef, marinated crab, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) and chuck ribs can all be ordered à la carte too, so keep that in mind!

How did the B Set eel and marinated crab taste?

We ordered the B Set of eel, chuck ribs and marinated crab. The set includes a ₩5,000 per-person table setting fee.

Here comes some high-quality, great-looking eel. At Jangsodam the domestic Japonica freshwater eel is aged by immersion to remove the slime, so there's no fishy smell at all.

You can taste the freshness and deep flavor of the eel 😬 The flesh is really firm and chewy. It's so tender it melts in your mouth, with a deep flavor.

The set also includes marinated crab, both soy sauce crab (ganjang gejang) and spicy crab (yangnyeom gejang), made in-house with Yeonpyeong Island blue crab, and you can feel the freshness.

Ordering eel refills on the table tablet

For eel refills, just add them on the tablet at each table. The eel is so good that you keep ordering more... it's magic 🤩

Finishing with self-bar galbi grilled on a wire grill

After filling up on eel, we finished with the traditional galbi (marinated short ribs) from the self-bar. I was so full that I timidly grabbed just one piece.

Ask to switch the grill to the wire grill plate. Galbi over charcoal on the right grill is a dream combo. The seasoning had soaked in evenly like at a galbi restaurant, and it was so tender it melted in my mouth.

Is Jangsodam Cheongna Main Branch worth it for families?

My husband and I really got our stamina boost from the eel. Don't write it off as just all-you-can-eat eel ❌❌❌ If you're looking for a buffet with good-quality eel, I recommend Jangsodam.
