I'm a bread lover who likes everything, meal breads and snack breads alike ♡ But lately my body has been sending warning signs, so I'm cutting back on flour and coffee... and without tasty food my life satisfaction feels like it's dropping;;; But then!!! I heard there's a bakery nearby where the bread is easy on the stomach AND delicious, so off I went, right away!!

Chamsae Bori Sikppang, Bucheon main branch sits right where you can see it from the Simgok overpass intersection in Sosa-gu, Bucheon. It's close to Bucheon Station and Jayu Market too, so it's easy to drop by while you're out.

The store notice said it opens at 10am Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, and is closed Mondays and Thursdays. The first things that caught my eye were numbers, and the one that stood out was 1! They say this is the place that came first in the whole country for bread on Master of Living (생활의 달인).

Chamsae Bori Sikppang, Bucheon main branch opens at 10am and closes once everything is sold, so the closing time is basically meaningless^^ I've seen reviews from people who rushed over in the afternoon and found no bread, and it seems like most of it is gone by around 1pm, yikes! Notices go out via KakaoTalk, so check before you visit, and I recommend going right at opening, open-run gogo.

The shop is full of toasty bread smell~ with a little buttery scent too~ I wish I could send you this smell through the screen ♡

I went at about 10:30am on a weekday and nothing was sold out, so I could pick at leisure. Even while I was taking photos, loaves kept disappearing 🍞

Franchise bread prices have gone up scarily these days, so these prices actually look kind haha The ₩3,700 rye barley loaf, considering what goes into it, was an angel of a price ♡

They also sell belly-shaped financiers (배불뚝 휘낭시에), and you get a financier when you write a receipt review, so give an honest review of the tasty bread and pick up your gift^^

The milk cream I fell for after a free sample

While I was picking bread, they offered me a sample, and it was the fresh milk cream, right there!! I tried one and it tasted like the cream on a famous bakery's cake, so sooo good!!

Before I knew it I had put two in my basket and brought them home, can you believe it haha This is the milk cream from Chamsae Bori Sikppang that bewitches people^^

They gave me a coupon too, so I plan to collect 10 fast and grab one more loaf haha

How does the Grand Prize barley loaf taste?

This is the bread I picked at Chamsae Bori Sikppang, a Bucheon bread favorite! Plus the 2 irresistible milk creams ♡ The famous Grand Prize bread that a master raved about!! When I opened the Grand Prize barley loaf, the buttery smell made me hungry^^

The Grand Prize barley loaf is lovely in shape, color, smell and taste.

Soft and chewy, it deserved its SBS Master of Living Grand Prize! If you love bread but feel heavy and queasy afterward, you really have to try Chamsae Bori Sikppang~ It was famous as a easy-on-the-stomach, good-value healthy bread and a blood sugar-friendly loaf spot in Bucheon even before it won first place, so the bread's taste is trustworthy.

The rye barley loaf I especially fell for

The ₩3,700 rye barley loaf is the one I fell for especially hard!!

The rye barley loaf has cranberries and grains in it, so they say it's good for gut health and made with blood sugar in mind too.

It broke my prejudice that meal bread like this doesn't taste good. It's great as it is, and great with a quick spin in the air fryer~ It isn't flashy, but you'll know once you try it. The number 1 bread in Korea leaves you with nothing heavy after eating, and it tastes good too.

Spreading the mascarpone milk cream on the loaf

The milk cream at Chamsae Bori Sikppang has mascarpone cheese in it, so the flavor is fantastic, and I ate it with the bread. Don't think of café whipped cream! It's real milk cream, soft, fluffy and sweet. I spread it on thickly and it was even better than a franchise cream bread^^

I finished half a loaf in one sitting, then had another slice of the Grand Prize loaf, and kept tearing off pieces, yet it was an easy-on-the-stomach barley loaf with nothing heavy.

I wondered if I'd bought too much at once, but the bread was gone in two days^^;; As expected of a Bucheon bread favorite 👍👍👍

What to know before a weekend visit

They say that on weekends the open-run queue at Chamsae Bori Sikppang, Bucheon main branch is long and the bread sells out even faster. It was already famous, and now that it's won the Grand Prize for bread it's become even more famous haha Next time I'll go in the morning again and stock up. :)
