In short
Dolpanseok Jjamppong Paju Simhaksan Branch is a Chinese restaurant near Lotte Outlet in Paju, Gyeonggi, that serves jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) in a heated stone bowl. The writer ordered the medium whole squid stone jjamppong (₩34,000) and a mini donchitang (₩15,000, pork cutlet with dakgangjeong sweet-crispy fried chicken), enjoyed jjamppong that kept bubbling to the last bite plus the nurungji (crispy scorched rice) under the stone, and took the leftover donchitang home. With baby chairs, a microwave for warming baby food and an unlimited self-bar, Dolpanseok Jjamppong is a good spot for a hearty meal after outlet shopping.

What is Dolpanseok Jjamppong near Paju Lotte Outlet?
Dolpanseok Jjamppong is a stone-plate jjamppong place that serves generous bowls on a piping-hot stone plate. I found it while searching for restaurants near Lotte Outlet in Paju and finally went. The name alone sounds unusual, right? Haha. Since the noodles come in a stone plate, unlike regular jjamppong, the look really grabs your eye.

Let me introduce the stone jjamppong and the donchitang right away ❤️

Dolpanseok Jjamppong menu, prices and set discount
We ordered the medium whole squid stone jjamppong for ₩34,000 and the mini donchitang for ₩15,000. If you order jjamppong together with a side dish, you get ₩2,000 off, so if you want both, ordering them as a set is a great tip. There are lots of menu items, so I only photographed a few signature ones.

Self-bar with unlimited rice and scallion kimchi
The self-bar has scallion kimchi, pickled radish (danmuji) and onions, and even the rice is unlimited, which I loved!! Finishing the noodles and then mixing rice in the stone plate is just amazing.

There are also instructions on how to enjoy the stone jjamppong and stone jjajang (black bean noodles), so take a look and let's enjoy it properly haha.

How was the whole squid stone jjamppong?
The whole squid stone jjamppong comes topped with big pieces of whole squid and bean sprouts, and the broth is rich and fairly spicy. It showed up after a short wait, and the first things I noticed were the huge squid and the sprouts. It looked so generous that my mouth started watering haha. There were plenty of bean sprouts, and their crunch with the noodles was a sneaky highlight!!
The stone plate is so hot that the food keeps bubbling and stays warm even after it arrives. As someone who loves piping-hot food, I was super satisfied haha.

The squid is cut into bite-size pieces, and eating it with the noodles adds a chewy texture, so good!!! The broth is rich and spicy, so the savory depth really came through when I ate the seafood and noodles together.

Should you eat stone jjamppong right away or let it simmer?
I recommend waiting a little rather than eating the stone jjamppong right away! Comparing the just-served mixed shot with the sauce-soaked, thick-and-sticky shot, the seasoning soaked into the noodles over time, so it was much thicker and tastier than at the start haha.

I also tried it topped with scallion kimchi from the self-bar.

Nurungji (scorched rice) under the stone bowl
When you are almost done, scrape up the nurungji (scorched rice crust) hiding under the stone plate. Its nutty, crunchy texture is different from the chewy noodles, so you can enjoy something new right to the end haha.

What is the mini donchitang?
The mini donchitang (₩15,000) at Dolpanseok Jjamppong lets you try pork cutlet and dakgangjeong (sweet-spicy fried chicken) in one dish. It looked pretty novel from the start. Fried chicken with jjamppong!!!! With crispy pork cutlet and sweet-spicy fried chicken together, it is great to alternate with the jjamppong, and perfect when you want to try a variety of dishes ❤️
The portion was generous, and we were told leftover donchitang could be packed to go, so we took it home neatly haha.

Who should eat at Dolpanseok Jjamppong after Paju Lotte Outlet shopping?
A Naver review event is also running, so finishing with a refreshing ade after the meal would make it a full course, I think haha. Dolpanseok Jjamppong is a great stop after shopping at Lotte Outlet in Paju when you crave hot, hearty jjamppong. From the whole squid stone jjamppong to the donchitang with pork cutlet and fried chicken in one, the lineup is a bit different from an ordinary Chinese restaurant, so it is worth visiting when you want a different kind of meal ❤️
