European bistro-style wine bar in Haebangchon, Seoul: Sugar Hill
In short
Sugar Hill is a wine bar and Western bistro on Sinheung-ro in Haebangchon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Two people shared the BTS meal set (105,000 won) with Bodeumi shell pasta, Juju's sous vide steak, the So What cheese plate, an Obok cocktail and a melon pop, and found Sugar Hill's second floor, with patterned tiles and yellow lighting, especially cozy. For outdoor street-side drinks or a quiet date in Haebangchon, Sugar Hill's BTS meal set is good value.

Today's story is about Sugar Hill, a place I found while looking for a good-atmosphere wine bar in Haebangchon 🍷 It's great for a light drink outside or for a date, so let me introduce it :) It's located at 99-15 Sinheung-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

Walking along the alley vibe unique to Haebangchon, the chalkboard sign out front greets you first 👀

What's the vibe like at Sugar Hill in Haebangchon?
There are outdoor tables with red steel chairs in front of Sugar Hill, great for a drink in the evening breeze.

Inside, patterned tile floors mix with wooden folding chairs, a rattan mirror, and vintage posters.

It felt like stepping into a small bistro in some European alley haha. The second floor especially stuck with me — it's cozy, with soft yellow lighting that's perfect for focusing on conversation, and it sets a great date mood 💛

A 2-person terrace and group seating for 4+
Sugar Hill has a separate terrace space you can reserve for two people! There's also separate seating for groups of 4 or more, so it seems good for a gathering spot too.
Sugar Hill menu, prices, and the BTS meal set
Pasta at Sugar Hill runs 23,000–25,000 won, and the sous vide steak is 48,000 won — but if you're going with two people, the 105,000 won BTS meal set is the best value. Here's the menu breakdown.

- Shell pasta ₩23,000
- Cream pillow chicken pasta ₩25,000
- Juju's sous vide steak (170g) ₩48,000
- So What cheese plate ₩22,000
- Fries ₩14,000
- Obok cocktail ₩16,000
- Melon pop (non-alcoholic) ₩16,000
- House wine (glass) ₩14,000
We went with the BTS meal set. It comes with shell pasta + sous vide steak + cheese plate + 2 drinks for 105,000 won. Ordering separately comes to 125,000 won, so you save about 20,000 won — I'd recommend the set if you're going as a pair 👍
- 📌 One dish and one drink per person is required.
- 📌 If there's a wait, your time is limited to 2 hours.

How do Sugar Hill's signature dishes taste?

Shell pasta
Sugar Hill's shell pasta comes as a large shell-shaped pasta stuffed full of ricotta and mozzarella. Parmesan is dusted on top like fresh snow, with tomato sauce underneath. The outside is golden and slightly crispy at the edges, while the inside is all soft, melty cheese — that's the charm.

Juju's sous vide steak
Juju's sous vide steak is cooked sous vide and then seared, so the inside stays moist and pink. It comes topped with the chef's signature soy-oregano sauce and plenty of scallion salsa, which brightens up the richness of the meat. There's plenty of sauce, so it's fun dipping each bite in.

So What cheese plate
The So What cheese plate comes with several kinds of cheese, green grapes, and even colorful gummy bears all on one plate. The purple flower garnish in the middle makes it pretty for photos too 📸 It's a great snack to pick at while sipping a cocktail or wine.

Obok cocktail and the non-alcoholic melon pop
Sugar Hill's Obok cocktail is a signature drink made with omija (five-flavor berry) and gin. I've tried a lot of cocktails, but this was genuinely a flavor I'd never had before, and it was delicious! Highly recommend. The red color is pretty, and the fruity aroma built from Korean ingredients is really appealing.
The melon pop is a non-alcoholic drink! It was a great melon soda. Topped with vanilla ice cream and even a cherry, it brought back memories of a melon soda float. 🍒
Also, the owner had great style and was really kind, so we had a lovely time overall 😊
Overall thoughts on Sugar Hill, a Haebangchon wine bar
If you're looking for a good-atmosphere wine bar in Haebangchon, I recommend Sugar Hill! It works well whether you want a light drink outside or a quiet date conversation. If you're going with two people, the BTS meal set is the best value pick. Next time I definitely want to book ahead and come back for a spot on the third floor 🙆♀️
