Nowon sushi buffet date after a wedding photoshoot diet: Kuu Kuu

My short diet for the wedding photoshoot is finally over, and I've been going around eating delicious food with my boyfriend 😖 It's been ages, but we finally went back to Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch!

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch location, hours and parking

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is on the 6th floor of 247 Nowon-ro, Nowon-gu, Seoul, and it's open daily from 11:00 to 21:30. Parking is free for 2 hours, and it's a 12-minute walk from Hagye Station.

Can you walk into Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch on a weekday evening without a reservation?

Even on early weekday evenings, Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch gets packed, so I'd really recommend booking ahead. We reserved a weekday dinner slot at 5:30pm, and there were still tons of people.

From the moment we got in the elevator, everyone seemed to be getting off on our floor, and I thought, 'Wait, are they all going to Kuu Kuu too...?' Turns out yes, everyone was! 🤣 I guess it's such a popular spot for Nowon family gatherings that even early weekday evenings are busy.

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch prices and time limit

For adults and middle/high schoolers, Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch charges 27,900 won for weekday lunch (leaving before 5pm), 31,900 won for weekday dinner (leaving after 5pm), and 35,900 won on weekends and holidays. Elementary schoolers pay 16,900 won for weekday lunch, 17,900 won for weekday dinner, and 18,900 won on weekends and holidays, while preschoolers pay a flat 9,900 won regardless of day or lunch/dinner.

They said the time limit is capped at 1.5 hours if there's a waiting queue!

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch atmosphere and group spaces

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has a bright, cozy white-and-wood-tone atmosphere that I loved the moment we walked in ☺️ And the space is huge — I looked it up and apparently it's over 300 pyeong! They said private spaces for 50, 80, even 300 people are available, almost like renting your own venue.

What kinds of sushi does Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch serve?

The sushi at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch was really varied — tuna belly, yellowtail, bacon, duck barbecue, cheese salmon, whelk, scallop, cuttlefish, and more. As I set up our table and looked around for food, I was amazed at how many kinds of sushi there were 👀

There were so many kinds that just trying one of each would fill you up!

Upsized salmon and flounder sushi, plus botan shrimp sushi

They said the salmon and flounder sushi at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch have been upgraded with bigger fish slices, so it fills your mouth more than before! Can you see the size? My boyfriend, who loves sushi, tried it and declared this place a must for salmon and flounder sushi haha.

Not just the salmon and flounder sushi — the shrimp sushi got an upgrade too. They said they use botan shrimp, which is sweeter and softer, so you get a stronger shrimp flavor! 🦐

A wide range of rolls, not just for show

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch also had a huge variety of rolls! I love rolls, and usually at buffets there are only a couple of roll options just for show, but here there was so much variety I was happy.

Is the Norwegian raw salmon sashimi only served at dinner?

The Norwegian raw salmon sashimi at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is a weekday dinner, weekend, and holiday item. Doesn't it look super fresh just looking at it?! 🤭 I was glad we came for dinner haha. (By the way, apparently even Kuu Kuu Gold Branch doesn't have raw salmon sashimi on its menu!)

Grill dishes for meat lovers: smoked duck and lamb chops

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has a lot of grill menu items too, like pork rib barbecue, crunkle chicken, and smoked pork belly. Honestly I'm more of a meat person than a fish person, so I was thrilled 😖

Among everything, the smoked duck was especially delicious! It had a chewy yet moist texture, salty and savory, and I kept going back for more 🤤

My boyfriend loved the lamb chops! Nicely browned on the outside, with that distinct rich lamb flavor. These are usually a weekday dinner or weekend item, so it was surprising that Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch offers them all day!

How varied are the Chinese and Western dishes?

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch had a huge range of Chinese dishes too — guobaorou (sweet and sour pork), chili shrimp, dongpo pork, and eight-treasure stir-fry.

They also had a variety of Western dishes, like seafood and snow crab pasta!

Unlimited marble ice cream and desserts

At Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, you can even have unlimited marble ice cream for dessert?! 😚 Marble ice cream used to be a weekday dinner and weekend item only, but now it's available at lunch too! 🍨 Kids would absolutely love this... and of course, as adults, we loved it too 😆

We ate desserts and fruit until we were completely stuffed!! After eating we were so full that we walked around the park right next to Kuu Kuu to help digest before heading home haha.

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch after several years: was it worth going back?

It had really been years since I last visited Kuu Kuu, and the meal was satisfying with so many dish options and great taste. If you're looking for good food in Nowon or a Nowon sushi buffet, I recommend Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch!
