Where is Deombeogeo Yongsan?

Deombeogeo Yongsan (덤버거 용산점) is a handmade burger shop on the 2nd floor of a building in Yongridan-gil. Oddly, the 1st floor is Deombeogeo's office and the restaurant is upstairs.

There's no better weather for eating outdoors than right now. Today I'm sharing my visit to Deombeogeo Yongsan, a handmade burger spot in Yongridan-gil. It was my first time properly hanging out in Yongridan-gil, and after wandering all over, I stumbled on Deombeogeo.

Where should you sit at Deombeogeo Yongsan?

The best seats at Deombeogeo Yongsan are by the window with a view outside, or on the 2nd-floor terrace side. You climb a flight of stairs to get up there, and as the exterior suggests, there are spots where you can watch the street like you're at an outdoor pub.

If you visit on a nice day, I strongly recommend claiming a window seat with an outdoor view or the terrace side, no matter what. These are the really good seats. Just grab them.

Hand-washing area and kiosk ordering

You order at a kiosk at Deombeogeo Yongsan, and there's a separate hand-washing area, which is Deombeogeo's signature. Handmade burgers taste best eaten by hand, and the best part is that you can wash your hands outside without going into the restroom.

Inside Deombeogeo Yongsan

The interior is prettily decorated in yellow, Deombeogeo's signature color. The 4 seats closest to the entrance also have an outside view, and it's a space where people outside can't see in but you can see out well. Hip outside, hip inside: a trendy Yongridan-gil burger shop.

What are the menu and prices at Deombeogeo Yongsan?

The signature BLT cheeseburger is ₩11,900 as a single and ₩16,900 as a set. It's the kind of burger place you'd find in America, so the patties are good, and I'd suggest choosing from the menu based on the patty.

There are many burger types depending on the number of beef patties, plus a few chicken patty burgers. Sides include French fries, whole chicken thigh, chicken tenders, hash brown, sweet corn salad, coleslaw and cheese sticks, and there are also set menus that get you other sides and a cola a bit cheaper.

People-watching from the 2nd-floor window seat

I was lucky to get the prime 2nd-floor window seat at Deombeogeo Yongsan and watched the street for a long time. I think I saw 500 people without leaving my chair, haha. It was such a fun time.

How does the Deombeogeo BLT cheeseburger taste?

The BLT cheeseburger had really fresh fillings and wasn't heavy. BLT stands for bacon, lettuce and tomato, the most common combination and one almost nobody dislikes.

The tomato, lettuce and cheese all went well with the patty. Food that isn't heavy or overwhelming, bb. The bun was crispy outside and moist inside, with a juicy beef patty and a fire-grilled flavor. Eaten in one bite it all comes together, so I finished it quickly.

Set fries

The fries in the set came out freshly fried and crispy, with just the right amount of salt.

Double-layer wrapper that keeps sauce off your hands

The wrapper is double-layered, so even when you hold the handmade burger, less sauce gets on your hands. I took a shot with the outside view behind it so you can see it. Usually sauce drips everywhere when you hold a burger, right? Deombeogeo isn't wrapped in just plain paper, so you can eat without getting it on your hands.

Deombeogeo Yongsan: the wrap-up

If you want a tasty handmade burger and an exotic outdoor-pub mood in Yongridan-gil, definitely visit Deombeogeo Yongsan. Order a beer too and it's basically a pub. It's about a 10-minute walk from Sinyongsan Station.

• There's a hand-washing spot inside Deombeogeo. It's so nice for holding a handmade burger and eating comfortably, and you can wipe off any food from your hands afterward!
