Family tonkatsu lunch after a KINTEX expo in Goyang: Jeongseong Katsu

After a fun day at an expo at KINTEX with the kids, we went to Jeongseong Katsu Ilsan KINTEX (정성카츠) for lunch. After all that browsing and playing, the kids were starving, haha. And what's the go-to kids' lunch? Tonkatsu, of course! It was a great place to bring children in Ilsan's KINTEX area.

Where do you park at Jeongseong Katsu Ilsan KINTEX?

Use the KINTEX GIFC Office Tower & Mall underground car park. Visiting the restaurant gets you 2 hours of free parking. No parking worries made a family meal out so much easier!!

Is it a good KINTEX tonkatsu restaurant for kids?

The restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly, so it was really nice to visit with the kids. I could see right away why it's so often recommended as a KINTEX favorite in Ilsan.

Eating out with kids, you end up being picky about a lot of things, right!!? These three matter most to me, and Jeongseong Katsu met all of them 😊

Are these sauce bottles not the cutest?? On the table there's a dressing sauce, plus a spicy sauce and the Jeongseong signature sauce.

What a family of four ordered, and the prices

Two kids and two adults ordered the Jeongseong mixed katsu set, the fillet katsu set and icy cold buckwheat noodles. The portions were really generous and we were stuffed, haha. Great value too!!

A hot-day lifesaver: icy cold buckwheat noodles

The real MVP that day was the icy cold buckwheat noodles (naengmomil).. Ugh, the weather today.. it was so hot, and this one bowl, haha, fixed everything.

The broth is seasoned just right and the noodles are wonderfully chewy!! The kids ate them well too, so it was a fantastic dish.

And the salad dressing that comes with the set.. what is this.. even the sauce is delicious?!

How is the batter on the Jeongseong mixed katsu set?

The batter on the mixed katsu isn't thick or greasy, so I could enjoy it to the very end. They seem to use clean oil too, just look at it ^^

It makes a lovely meal just like this~

Fillet katsu set and fried shrimp

The fillet katsu is made from tenderloin, so it's really soft. It cuts easily with just a light touch of the knife and practically melts.

The fried shrimp was freshly fried, hot and crispy, and delicious!! I ordered it as the kids' favorite, so why is it this good for adults too? Haha. We ordered with the kids in mind, but the adults loved it just as much.

The texture of the katsu is so tender. It's a perfect side dish for kids. Crispy outside, juicy inside, the texture is a work of art.
