Today I went to one of my favorite Daeyeon-dong meat restaurants! It was my last restaurant meal the day before giving birth~! I hadn't been in a while, and it was still delicious!

The retro-style sign and exterior catch your eye right away! It's only about a 5-minute walk from Motgol Station, so it's easy to get to~
Roomy inside for group dinners, with separate group seating
Gim Geumja is a great spot for a pork galbi (ribs) group dinner in Daeyeon-dong. I couldn't tell from the outside, but the tables are roomy enough for a big get-together~ There's even a separate group seating area at the back!
It's a galbi place, but... haha, I always order the same things, so I'll save the galbi for another time~
✔️They give you an apron, a hair tie and dental floss! I love little touches like this 💗
Side dishes and a free jjondeugi
As soon as you sit down, they set out the side dishes: scallion salad, pickled onions, ssambu (pickled radish wraps), kimchi, muk sabal (chilled acorn jelly soup) and more. Even the basics look delicious!
And they gave us jjondeugi (chewy grilled snack sticks), a nostalgic childhood treat 💗

This is the menu at Gim Geumja, my go-to Daeyeon-dong meat spot. When I come here, I always order the icy draft beer first!!! Please do try the icy draft beer 👍 I'm pregnant, so only my husband had it... And we eat the whole pork jowl and whole pork skirt! The juices bursting in your mouth are the best!

On a hot day like this, an icy draft beer cools you down just by looking at it,,! Start with a glass and your insides feel so refreshed~~~~
Here are the whole pork skirt and whole pork jowl I ordered! Thick cuts, totally my style 😘 With sliced potatoes, mushrooms and shishito peppers too! Grilling them all together, how good will that be~
Waiting for the meat to cook is the most painful part... haha. They also give you meljeot (salted anchovy dipping sauce), and dipping in it is salty and addictive!!!

Plump, thick whole pork skirt! It was my first time having it served whole here, and the juices burst with every bite, which honestly surprised me!
The very first piece goes in salt, the tastiest way to enjoy the meat as it is 💗
Dip it in the sauce, dip it in the meljeot, wrap it up in lettuce with this and that. It was a happy time for my mouth!

We grilled the honeycomb pork skin from the event too~
They bring soybean powder, curry powder and sauce as well, and dipping the skin in them makes it chewy and bouncy~ I couldn't stop eating it
₩1,000 bone soup and cold noodles
There's another must-order here: the bone soup!!!!!!!!!! The first one is just ₩1,000, the second ₩2,000, and the third ₩3,000!!!!! You know that alone is enough to go with a whole bottle of soju, right? And it even tastes good!
I'm usually a doenjang (soybean paste stew) person haha, but it was so hot that day... I craved cold mul naengmyeon (cold noodles in broth) and ordered it! Is this place a naengmyeon specialist?? The noodles were really good too~ I told my husband that just galbi and naengmyeon here would be great!
