Sokcho sundubu restaurant with a private dog room: Jinsol Halmeoni
In short
Jinsol Halmeoni Sundubu is a sundubu (soft tofu stew) restaurant in Haksapyeong Kongkkot Village, Sokcho, where pets are allowed indoors and a dedicated room to the right of the entrance seats up to 8. The writer ate spicy sundubu and seafood jjamppong sundubu there with her dog Mayo, and the seafood jjamppong sundubu, packed with abalone, shrimp, squid and scallops, stood out, as did the self-serve bar of Gangwon-style side dishes. Jinsol Halmeoni Sundubu is a great pick for Sokcho travelers who want a relaxed meal with their dog without worrying about other diners.

🐶 A must for dog-friendly trips to Gangneung & Sokcho! Enjoy a private indoor room at 'Jinsol Halmeoni Sundubu' (feat. my dog Mayo)
Whenever you visit Sokcho and Gangneung, chodang sundubu (soft tofu) is a must-eat! 🍲 Since I was traveling to Sokcho with my dog Mayo, I searched hard for pet-friendly restaurants. Some only allow dogs indoors in general, but I heard there was a place with a dedicated space just for pets — so I ran right over!

Today I'm introducing 'Jinsol Halmeoni Sundubu (진솔할머니순두부),' located in Haksapyeong Kongkkot Village in Sokcho 🐾💕
Where is Jinsol Halmeoni Sundubu in Sokcho, and what are the hours and parking?
Jinsol Halmeoni Sundubu is at 118 Wonam Haksapyeong-gil, Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do, in Haksapyeong Kongkkot Village, and it's open daily from 07:30 to 20:00. Last order is at 19:00, and it may close early if ingredients run out ⚠️ There's a full parking lot right in front, and pets are welcome indoors with a separate room available 🐾
The moment I arrived, a spacious parking lot greeted me! There was even staff on hand to guide parking, making it super easy 🚗✨

On top of that, this place is a Sokcho traditional favorite that makes tofu fresh every day using 100% certified Korean soybeans from Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi! My trust level shot up even before I'd taken a bite 👍
What is the private dog-friendly room at Jinsol Halmeoni Sundubu like?
The pet-friendly room at Jinsol Halmeoni Sundubu is set up right to the right of the entrance, a comfortable space seating up to 8. It even had both air conditioning and a fan — essential in the hot weather! 💨 Walking inside, the friendly owner greeted us warmly! 😊

💡 A heartwarming moment with the owner!
Later I noticed there were already other customers with dogs, but since it was a quiet time, the owner carefully seated everyone apart from each other so they could all dine comfortably!
"If it gets too hot, just let me know anytime, I'll move you to another seat" — hearing that, I was genuinely touched by her thoughtfulness 🥺💖
(We of course chose the comfy pet-friendly room! haha)

Thanks to that, our Mayo got to poke her head out of the bag and rest comfortably the whole meal without feeling cramped 🐶🐾
Jinsol Halmeoni Sundubu menu and prices 📋

Walking inside, all kinds of sundubu dishes caught my eye! Check the menu board photo for the full lineup and price range. 😉 We went ahead and ordered spicy sundubu and a seafood-packed jjamppong sundubu! ✨
How did the spicy sundubu and seafood jjamppong sundubu taste?
The spicy sundubu and seafood jjamppong sundubu we ordered were served neatly as a full table not long after ordering! ✨

🌶️ Spicy sundubu (soft tofu stew)
Exactly the sharp, hangover-curing spiciness I love! It's not just spicy for spiciness's sake — the soft, fluffy tofu's natural savoriness melts into the broth, and you just keep eating more. Ladle in some hot rice with a side dish on top and it's an absolute rice-thief! 🍚🔥
🦪 Seafood jjamppong sundubu
Wow, I was surprised by the hearty look of this the moment it arrived! It was really 'loaded' with seafood — abalone, shrimp, squid, and scallops 🦐🦑 It had that smoky wok-hei flavor and spicy jjamppong broth taste just like a real specialty jjamppong shop — so surprising and delicious! Highly recommend for seafood lovers 👍
Side dishes and the self-serve banchan bar 🥗
The banchan (side dish) spread at Jinsol Halmeoni Sundubu was really substantial too! Japchae, stir-fried anchovies, sorghum pancakes, salted squid, braised potatoes, and other Gangwon-style sides came out neatly arranged 🥔✨

What especially won me over were the salted squid and the classic sweet-salty crumbly braised potatoes!

There's a self-serve bar in the back of the restaurant, so it was great being able to grab more of any banchan we ran out of 😋
Photo review event, takeout and nationwide delivery 🎁
Make sure you don't miss this if you visit! 😉

✔️ Naver photo review event — write a photo review and get a free acorn jelly or a drink!

✔️ Takeout & delivery available — salted squid, salted seeds, and pollack sashimi salad are all sold separately and can be shipped nationwide!

The restaurant also sells various snacks inside, and all menu items can be packed to go, so keep that in mind 📦
Verdict: dining with a dog at Jinsol Halmeoni Sundubu 📝
A perfectly separated space where you can eat comfortably with your dog without worrying about anyone else, the owner's warm kindness, and the deep flavor of sundubu made from 100% Korean soybeans! If you're a pet owner wanting to enjoy delicious sundubu during your Sokcho trip, I highly recommend 'Jinsol Halmeoni Sundubu'! It was a happy meal with Mayo 🐾❤️
