Why I visited Beorn Hair Cheongdam

I went to Beorn Hair Cheongdam (비오른헤어 청담점), a hair salon in Cheongdam-dong, to sort out my curly roots and damaged ends in one go. Lately the curls at my roots have been growing in quite a bit, and the hair on the lower part is so damaged it just looks bad. I figured I couldn't leave it like this any longer, so here's my visit review, let's go!

Getting to Beorn Hair Cheongdam and parking

Beorn Hair Cheongdam has its sign on the 2nd floor of a building on Seolleung-ro, so you can spot it from far away. The building looks stylish from the outside already. The floor directory by the entrance is neatly arranged, and with parking and valet service available, it looked really convenient if you come by car.

What is the inside of Beorn Hair Cheongdam like?

The inside of Beorn Hair Cheongdam has a bright, modern interior in beige and wood tones, with generously spaced seats. The moment I walked in, the information desk greeted me with that bright, modern look, and the beige and wood together made me feel at ease.

By the window there is a spot for reading magazines while you wait, and the spacing between the treatment seats is wide, so it never felt stuffy. The shampoo area is separated off and very cozy, which made it comfortable to use.

I wanted a layered cut, so I looked up reviews of this Cheongdam-dong salon, Beorn Hair, and booked the head stylist!

Why no perm on damaged hair: the consultation

Before the treatment, the head stylist at Beorn Hair Cheongdam checked my hair condition first and, because the damage was high, recommended skipping the perm in favor of root straightening magic plus a cut. My hair tends to be curly, so I had wanted to add a light perm to the lower part while doing the root magic.

But after looking at my hair, the stylist honestly explained that the damage level was quite high and that perming on top of it could ruin my hair. Rather than just saying yes to everything, recommending a combination that was right for my hair made me trust them much more!

Layered cut and added keratin: the treatment steps

First came the layered cut to tidy up the messy hair, then they added keratin to protect the damaged areas and did the root magic. I had a reference photo, so I showed it, and they cut me an easy-to-manage layered cut.

My hair is so damaged that, as it is now, any chemical touching it would double the damage right away. So we decided to add keratin. The stylist showed photos on a tablet and explained how keratin treatment works so clearly that I was fully convinced and went ahead!

While the root magic solution was setting

While waiting after the root magic solution was applied, I sat at the big table at Beorn Hair Cheongdam and could use a charger comfortably. I relaxed with a coffee!👍🏻

With the keratin added, after the solution was rinsed and my hair washed, my hair didn't look damaged at all! It felt so good. I thought, I'm glad I came to Beorn Hair in Cheongdam-dong.

How did the root magic and layered cut turn out?

In the end, even though my hair is damaged, I could see a glossy angel ring, and the layered cut fell in a not-too-heavy layered shape, so I was very satisfied. Throughout the treatment the head stylist took careful care step by step, from applying the solution to heat treatment and the shampoos in between.

They also kindly gave me a tip: if you plan to keep growing your hair out, you should trim off the damaged parts bit by bit as it grows, so I'll definitely get a trim once every two months!

When it was all done and I looked in the mirror, I was really happy. Even though my hair is damaged, I could see a glossy angel ring. 😍 The layered cut wasn't over the top either, it fell prettily with exactly the layers I wanted, so I was sooo, so happy with the result.

Even after the magic treatment my hair didn't lie flat and stuck-down, it looked natural, so I excitedly took an elevator selfie on my way out ❤️ I had been so worried about hair damage, so I was really grateful they gave me hair that suited my condition instead of pushing an overly harsh treatment.
