Where is Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital Branch?

Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital Branch is a handmade burger restaurant on the B1 floor at 50-1 Yeonse-ro, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul. It is open Mon–Fri 07:00–20:30 and Sat–Sun 10:00–20:30.

Right in the middle of Sinchon, Yonsei University and Sinchon Severance Hospital, this handmade burger place, Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital Branch, only opened recently and is already a hot Yonsei-area spot.

Yo-u-jing-i (the writer) walked straight from Sinchon Station, and it took about 6 minutes. Go past the Starbucks, head inside the building, and Bas Burger is right there on the right, so it was easy to find.

It's open from 7 am to 8:30 pm Monday to Friday and from 10 am to 8:30 pm on weekends, so there's a separate morning menu too.

What's the atmosphere and how do you order?

Bas Burger has tables for 2 and 4 and soft lighting that feels a bit like a beer pub. I arrived around 2:30 pm on a weekday, and quite a few people were still eating.

I browsed the whole menu while deciding how to eat. This was a combined lunch and dinner, so I wanted something filling.

How did I change the mushroom burger set options?

On the Bas Burger mushroom burger set, you can swap the default bun for lettuce in the options (+₩500). I changed the bun to lettuce and added the chili mozzarella cheese bar I'd been wanting.

I also switched to a milkshake, which I eat maybe once or twice a year! Since the chips are free here, I swapped the fries for coleslaw too.

Do the sauces cost extra?

When you order a set or fried items at Bas Burger, you can pick from lots of sauces. The shishito pepper red mayo dip is ₩1,000 and the truffle mayo dip is ₩1,500 extra, and all the rest were free. I added ranch.

Are the free chips at Bas Burger really unlimited?

The chips at Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital Branch are free, and you can take as many as you like with unlimited refills. The free chips I mentioned earlier!!!! They are seriously, crazy crunchy, with a texture and flavor that anyone, young or old, is bound to love.

Refills are of course allowed, unlimited. So swapping to coleslaw when you order a set is a good idea, and even ordering a combo and enjoying it with the chips makes it a great-value handmade burger set. Love that.

Water is provided too, by the way^^! I filled a bowl with chips while waiting with the buzzer. If you need wet wipes, ask the staff and they'll give you some. Handy for cleaning your hands before the chips!

These chips, with a crunch and nuttiness I've never tasted anywhere else... were love. (T_T) They were perfect for taming my hunger while staring at the buzzer. And when I'm happily munching chips, the buzzer goes ding-ding and dances!

How were the milkshake and chili mozzarella cheese bar?

I started cool with the milkshake. A few years ago I never understood eating a milkshake with a burger and fries.. haha; they say people don't change much, but look, I did!

The Bas Burger chili mozzarella cheese bar had a coating that wasn't too thick and plenty of cheese. I picked up my fork to eat it while warm, and I was so impressed by the amount of cheese. Super generous!

The sauce tasted stronger than the chili flavor we all know, and I personally loved it even more. People who like slightly spicy, punchy food will love it! It's bound to pair perfectly with beer, so I highly recommend it as a beer snack too!

Is the mushroom burger with a lettuce bun bland?

Here's the Bas Burger mushroom burger with the bun swapped for lettuce. Green and leafy, kind of healthier-feeling, don't you think?

When I opened up the lettuce, there was tomato, grilled onion, cheese and a fried mushroom on top of the beef patty. The mushroom hides inside a thin batter. This was a real treat, seriously!

Since I wanted ranch with it too, I drizzled it all over. It looks like something you'd want to cut with a knife and fork, right? Can you see the thin batter wrapped around the mushroom burger? The mushroom is huge and thick, so I highly recommend it to mushroom lovers!

I really enjoyed it (T_T) Some of you may be thinking, a burger with no bun? Huh? But oh, it did not feel bland at all for lacking a bun. The freshness and lightness of the lettuce were great too.
