The writer went with a friend at the 2pm weekend opening for daytime beer and ordered lemon cream shrimp and skewered fish cake kimchi udon with a bottle of Terra; the fried shrimp was crispy and the udon broth spicy and refreshing. It wasn't night yet and the sky was still bright, but it was the weekend and I wanted to chat with a friend over cold beer and snacks! So we went to Monthly Beer Guro Digital Complex Station Branch, a pub that always comes up when people recommend a Gudi bar.

Where is Monthly Beer Guro Digital Complex Station Branch, and can you park?
Monthly Beer Guro Digital Complex Station Branch is a 3-minute walk from Exit 2 of Gudi Station. Walk straight down Kkalkkal-geori and it's at the very end. For parking, ask the staff and you can use the lot next to the shop (not possible when it's full).

Monthly Beer's beer of the month price and the discount before 7pm
The big selling point!! Every month you can drink a different imported beer at the rock-bottom price of ₩3,900. This month's beer is Corona, and ₩3,900 is a price you hardly see in bars these days! Customers arriving before 7pm also get ₩7,000 off, so it's a really good-value place.

The food is good value too, and there's so much of it! They sell about 70 homemade dishes, including chicken, pizza, pasta, bingsu (shaved ice dessert), sherbet and more. For someone like me who cares most about the food at a pub, this is the best.

Weekend daytime drinking: what are the seats like at Monthly Beer Gudi?
Weekend opening time at Monthly Beer Guro Digital Complex Station Branch is 2pm, so we showed up a little after 2 haha (we were craving daytime beer). There are lots of table types and they're roomy, so it would be good for a group dinner too.

There are also seats with partitions, as if they were separated off, so we could eat comfortably.
Does Monthly Beer cook its dishes in-house?
Unlike other pub brands that get one-pack ready meals from headquarters, the chef at Monthly Beer says he prepares and trims all the ingredients himself! They say every order passes through the chef's hands from start to finish, so quality is guaranteed.

After wondering what to eat, we ordered two dishes: lemon cream shrimp and skewered fish cake kimchi udon!

The restroom is inside, and you just grab an apron and put it on yourself!

If you write a Naver receipt review or an Instagram review, they say you also get corn cheese as a free extra!

The snacks that came as the basic side dish! Monthly Beer doesn't give just one kind of snack; they gave us a mix of 3 kinds. They were all ones I like, so I was so happy ><

We ordered a bottle of Terra and cheered!
Lemon cream shrimp: is the sauce too sour?

The lemon cream shrimp at Monthly Beer looks special from the color alone, and the plating is so pretty! There were sliced lemons laid underneath.

High-quality food on par with what a regular Chinese restaurant sells!! At pubs like this the food quality is often disappointing, but here it's genuinely delicious. The batter was crunchy, the shrimp were plump, and they went so well with the sauce that came with them. Because it's lemon cream, I worried the sauce might be sour, but it wasn't sour at all, just a normal sauce flavor!

Skewered fish cake kimchi udon: how big is it and how spicy?
The skewered fish cake kimchi udon at Monthly Beer looks hearty. It had 4 fish cake skewers and was piled with mushrooms on top.

As soon as it came to a bubbling boil, I went for the fish cake skewer first >< (I'm someone who hates blowing on fish cake to cool it) As expected, the fish cake is so good.

The bottom of the pot was also full of noodles. They were like udon noodles, springy and a great match for the broth. The broth was deep, refreshing and clean~! A little spicy, but not very hot.

With the generous ingredients and big portion, it worked perfectly as both a drinking snack and a meal! The atmosphere inside is nice too, so it was great for a cozy chat for the first time in a while.
If you're looking for a good-value Gudi pub with lots of dishes to choose from, I recommend Monthly Beer Guro Digital Complex Station Branch~!~!
