Eungam-dong ramen shop, hot holiday lunch for two light eaters: Oreno
In short
Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong is a chicken-broth paitan ramen shop right by Bulgwangcheon stream in Eungam-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul. On a hot public holiday around 11:30 am, a couple ate tori paitan and karai paitan (13,000 won each) with an added egg, and noticed thoughtful touches like strong air conditioning, iced barley tea, aprons and hair ties. With rich but never cloying chicken broth and free refills, Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong serves a remarkably well-finished bowl.

I visited Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong, a ramen spot in Eungam-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, known for its rich chicken broth.
What are Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong's opening hours?
Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong is open daily from 11:00 to 20:30, with a break from 14:30 to 17:00. Last order is at 20:00.
Where is Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong, and is there a wait?

The shop sits right in front of Bulgwangcheon stream, so it's a great stop during a walk. The exterior is clean and easy to spot from far away, and there are waiting chairs out front.

We came around 11:30 am on a holiday. I've often seen a line here, and sure enough, one formed not long after we went in. Turnover is quite fast, though, so it didn't look like a long wait.

Seating at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong: good for eating alone?
Inside, there are about 10 counter seats (dacchi-seok) and about 4 four-person tables. The mood is comfortable for eating alone, and quite a few customers were indeed dining solo.

The kitchen is open so you can watch the cooking, and it was kept so neat that I trusted the place even more.

What impressed me most was how considerate the shop is. There are coat hangers at the entrance, and aprons and hair ties are placed near the tables, so we could eat comfortably.

How do the free refills work at Oreno Ramen?
One of Oreno Ramen's big perks is free refills of noodles (half or full portion), broth, and rice. We're both small eaters so we didn't get a refill (the regular portion was already plenty for me), but most of the men around us ordered one at least once.
I was especially impressed that a noodle refill comes with a piece of chicken breast and chopped scallions. It doesn't feel like just extra noodles; they seem to care that you enjoy it to the very end.

Please note the restroom is outside the shop.
A big plus! The day we visited was really hot, and the shop had the air conditioning blasting, which was the perfect temperature for ramen. It was even a little chilly, which went wonderfully with a warm, steaming bowl of broth.
Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong menu and prices

The menu at Oreno Ramen is very simple. There are just two signature dishes.
- Tori paitan ramen
- Karai paitan ramen (spicy)
You can add toppings such as chashu (braised pork), egg, and cilantro. The menu isn't complicated, which made choosing easy, and it felt like a specialty shop focusing on what it's confident about.

Pickled radish, kimchi and iced barley tea
Each table has pickled radish (mu-pickle) you can serve yourself, and kimchi is brought separately on request. The staff asked us in advance, so ordering was easy. Both were tangy, appetite-boosting sides that went well with the ramen.

A small thing I loved! The water isn't plain bottled water but nutty barley tea with ice floating in it. With rich food like ramen, barley tea goes much better than plain water 👍🏻
We also ordered cola, and they filled the cup with ice. It was nice to sip cold cola between bites of hot ramen. A small detail, but it showed some thoughtfulness.

How does the tori paitan ramen taste?
My husband likes spicy food, so he chose the karai paitan, and I ordered the standard tori paitan. The biggest feature of Oreno Ramen is its rich, hefty chicken broth. Even one spoonful hits you with the chicken's nutty savoriness and deep umami. The broth is rich but not heavy, and goes down smoothly, so you keep eating.

The soft-boiled egg was so good!! The yolk was moist and jammy, and with the rich broth it's the best. It really lifts the flavor of the ramen~!
The noodles were great too. Not too soft, not too firm, just right. They soaked up the rich broth yet stayed springy, so they paired well with the soup.

The chicken breast was so tender~~ moist and soft, and not heavy to eat with ramen.

Is the karai paitan ramen very spicy?
This is my husband's karai paitan ramen. It's the rich base paitan with a spoonful of spicy sauce added. The heat isn't sharply aggressive; it brings out the flavor of the rich chicken broth and finishes cleanly, so I think people who like spicy ramen will be satisfied.

The egg was so good,, if you like eggs, I definitely recommend adding one!
Final verdict on Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong
Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong was great in its clean upkeep, friendly service, and free refill system, and above all the rich, deep chicken broth was truly delicious. It felt like a very well-finished bowl. If you love the strong umami of chicken broth, you'll likely be very satisfied, and the solo-friendly atmosphere and fast turnover are pluses too. I'll remember the moist soft-boiled egg, tender chicken breast, and a rich broth that never got tiresome.
The textbook rich chicken-broth ramen! If you're looking for a great ramen shop near Bulgwangcheon, I recommend Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong.
