Jungdong, Bucheon fries shop couple date: Chewy Potato at Angry Potato

I heard Angry Potato, which sells both the super-hot Chewy Potato and Chili's cheese sticks, had opened in Jungdong, Bucheon! So my husband and I went right away as a date :)) The Chewy Potato was crispy outside and chewy inside, just as everyone says, and when you eat in, you get 8 sauces totally unlimited and free!!! No worries about the bill, and we had a really good time.

Angry Potato Hyundai Department Store Jungdong: location and hours

Angry Potato Hyundai Department Store Jungdong Branch is in the B1 food hall of Hyundai Department Store Jungdong, 180 Gilju-ro, Bucheon, Gyeonggi. It is open 10:30–20:00 (closing at 20:30 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays), and you can use the department store's underground parking.

Since opening, Angry Potato has become a go-to spot at Bucheon's Hyundai Department Store. It's on B1 directly in front of the escalator, so even on our first visit it was easy to find :))

What's on the menu at Angry Potato Jungdong?

Besides basic fries, there's Chewy Potato, potato chips, chicken, Chili's cheese sticks, mini burgers and more. The variety is really, really wide. It would also be perfect for grabbing a quick takeout before going to a movie.

The Angry potato chips are said to be pure potato chips with no chemical additives, so I thought they'd be great for the kids and ordered one in the large size :)

Are Angry Potato's sauces free? Takeout sauce prices

Sauces are free when you eat in at Angry Potato Jungdong!!! For takeout, you can get 1-compartment or 3-compartment sauce cups for a cheap ₩500–1,000.

What we ordered for our couple date

We ordered what we were most looking forward to: Chewy Potato, a mini burger, Chili's cheese sticks and potato chips! Sauces are free and unlimited when eating in, so we didn't order any separately, and the mini burger comes with one sauce, so I got nacho cheese :))

Large fresh potato chips in a case that becomes a piggy bank

Such a huge portion of fresh potato chips!! The case is really cute, and once the chips are gone you can use it as a piggy bank, so great value ^,^

Chili's cheese sticks (Original)

Chili's came in Nashville Hot and Original, and we went with Original!!! They're said to be made with 100% natural whole mozzarella. Freshly cooked and crispy, with cheese stretching out like a waterfall inside. This one was the best in both looks and taste ^,^ A perfect snack for kids too!!

Mini burger skewer with nacho cheese

The cutie mini burger skewer comes with 3 mini burgers on a stick, each with a different flavor. It's good as a light solo meal and just right as a kids' snack, and thanks to the brioche buns they're small but really filling.

How does Angry Potato's Chewy Potato taste?

The Chewy Potato, the one I was most, most, most excited about!!!!!! You no longer have to travel all the way to Gangwon-do for it. You can get it at Angry Potato in Hyundai Department Store Jungdong!! >.<

The sauces are Chipotle, Sweet Chili, Diablo Hot, Honey Mustard, Sriracha Mayo, Chicago Charcoal, White Cream and Wasabi Mayo, and you can squeeze out as much as you like~~ Personally, Sriracha Mayo is the real winning combo, sob. The White Cream sauce is good for kids too, so I drizzled it on generously, and they ate really well ^,^

The Chewy Potato is crispy outside, moist inside, pure and simple!! If nobody told you it was potato, you'd be confused whether it was cheese or rice cake (tteok), that's how chewy it was. One bite and I understood right away why it's popular. It's cooked the moment you order, so the coating was really clean, and maybe that's why, even though it's fried, I never felt it was greasy no matter how much I ate!!

The fries themselves are delicious, and since you can mix and match different sauces, you never get tired of them. We happily finished a whole container! It's good for a light lunch, and great value for buying the kids a snack too.

Leftover potato chips to go for a movie night at home

Angry Potato Jungdong has a self-service packing station, so we packed up the leftovers ourselves and headed home!!

That evening we shared the chips while watching a movie, and the kids loved them, loved them!!! ^,^ Made from 100% fresh potatoes with sea salt, they were crunchy and lightly salty, and we couldn't stop reaching for more, haha. From now on, when we watch movies at home, it's Angry Potato chips instead of popcorn!! haha

I visited this Hyundai Department Store spot in Bucheon, Angry Potato Jungdong, because I wanted to try the Chewy Potato! The menu is varied and the prices are reasonable, so it was easy to drop by without any pressure :) Chewy Potato, potato chips, fries!! If you want to really taste potatoes, give it a visit >.<
