Korean BBQ after tennis in Bucheon Sinjung-dong: Cham Dwaejitgan

In short

Cham Dwaejitgan Bucheon Sinjung-dong Branch is a charcoal-grilled pork belly restaurant near Exit 3 of Sinjung-dong Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi. Two of us came around 4:30pm after playing tennis at Bucheon Gymnasium and ate four servings of Boseong Nokdon pork belly, pork jowl and pork neck, plus mul-naengmyeon (cold noodles) made with kudzu, while staff grilled all the meat for us. The juicy pork neck was the highlight, and Cham Dwaejitgan proved a thoughtful Korean BBQ spot right down to the convenience items by the register.

Is Cham Dwaejitgan busy at 4:30pm?

Around 4:30pm, Cham Dwaejitgan was quiet. We went for a very early dinner, but apparently it's usually a place with a wait! The interior is spacious, so I'd also recommend it for a work dinner.

Cham Dwaejitgan menu and prices per serving

At Cham Dwaejitgan you can choose between Jirisan black pork and Boseong Nokdon pork. Boseong Nokdon is grade 1, black pork is a whopping grade 1+! We were curious about Boseong Nokdon so we ordered that haha. The two of us tore through 4 servings total — 2 servings of pork belly, 1 of jowl, and 1 of neck.

  • Boseong Nokdon pork belly, neck: ₩16,000 per serving

The menu at Cham Dwaejitgan also introduces the classic pork belly combos well, and sells drinks and side dishes that pair nicely. You can even see the meat aging on display, which made me trust the place even more!

Real charcoal and a handmade no-splatter grill

Cham Dwaejitgan says it uses only charcoal with a handmade grill that doesn't splatter oil. So when you eat the meat, you can get the best juiciness packed with the unique aroma of domestic rice husks and charcoal, apparently haha.

Are side dishes unlimited at Cham Dwaejitgan?

At Cham Dwaejitgan, all the vegetable side dishes except minari are unlimited refills. First they put minari and bean sprouts on the grill for you, and they looked super fresh.

So I made sure to scope out the self-serve bar location ahead of time haha.

They give you more than just ssamjang and salt for sauces — even wasabi and spicy sauce.

Apron on, chopsticks out, ready to eat. Look at the great color on this pork belly.

Pork belly grilled entirely by Cham Dwaejitgan staff

At Cham Dwaejitgan, the staff grill all the meat, so there's no need to size each other up over who grabs the tongs. They even tell you when it's done and ready to eat — so kind!

I tried all the recommended combos. I ate it with the three vegetable combo, and also with perilla leaf and lettuce wraps.

Best potato wrap combo: sliced potato, garlic scapes and mushroom wasabi

I also tried Cham Dwaejitgan's signature potato wrap. Sliced potato + garlic stem + mushroom wasabi — this is the perfect combo, everyone, take notes!

Pork belly, neck or jowl: which cut was best?

My personal favorite at Cham Dwaejitgan was 🌟pork neck🌟. If the pork belly was solid, the neck bursts with juice — so good! The jowl (thousand-layer pork) was also nicely rich and fatty, perfect as the finishing dish.

Cham Dwaejitgan's cold noodles: kudzu mul-naengmyeon

Cham Dwaejitgan's water naengmyeon (cold noodles) is made with kudzu, so the noodles are chewy and the broth is clean. Eating naengmyeon after grilled meat is a classic combo! It went great with the meat, and was much better than most naengmyeon restaurants I've been to.

Handy convenience items by the exit

Cham Dwaejitgan has phone chargers, hair ties, aprons, plastic covers for your clothes, and kids' tableware all set up to make dining more comfortable. Thoughtful touches we noticed only on our way out after eating>.<

Convenience items provided at Cham Dwaejitgan

And since food stuck in your teeth after eating meat is always a worry, there's floss and toothpicks, plus mouthwash and candy haha. There's even Febreze, so no need to worry about smelling like BBQ on the way home.

It was a satisfying date filled with pork belly after a long time. I recommend Cham Dwaejitgan Bucheon Sinjung-dong Branch as a Korean BBQ restaurant in Bucheon's Sinjung-dong — make sure to visit!
