Yeouido solo lunch spot: salmon aglio olio pasta salad, Singsing Salad

On a day I had errands in Yeouido, I wasn't in the mood for a heavy lunch and wanted something light and healthy, so after some searching I ended up at Singsing Salad Yeouido Branch. Since the area is full of office workers, I was looking for somewhere good for solo dining, and in the end the taste, portion, and atmosphere were all satisfying!

Where is Singsing Salad Yeouido, and how far is it from Exit 5?

Singsing Salad Yeouido Branch is inside the Baeksang Building, about a 5-minute walk from Exit 5 of Yeouido Station. There are a lot of buildings around there so it's easy to get confused, so it might help to remember the shape of this building.

Once you're inside, you'll see the information desk, and if you turn left right there, you'll spot the cute green Singsing Salad storefront.

What the store feels like at 2pm, and the three solo seats

I visited around 2pm, so it was past the lunch peak, but there were still customers eating inside, and more kept coming in even after me. The store itself isn't huge, so it's cozily arranged with one table for two and three solo seats. If anything, that made me think it's a perfect solo-dining salad spot for Yeouido.

Maybe because it's a newly opened store, the place was dazzlingly clean.

Kiosk ordering and the self-serve bar for solo diners

There's a kiosk right at the entrance, so you can order conveniently without any face-to-face interaction. Next to the kiosk is a neatly arranged self-serve bar — water cups, wet wipes, a water dispenser, thoughtful palate-cleansing candy, and — the best consideration for solo diners — a phone stand, with aprons hanging neatly beside it.

There's also a lunch special menu that changes daily with different discounts depending on the day of the week, and an ongoing event where writing a Naver review gets you a free iced Dutch coffee, limited to once per person — definitely worth taking part in if you visit!

I really love noodle dishes, and I'm obsessed with aglio olio in particular, so I went straight for the pasta salad line without hesitation.

Since cooking starts the moment you order, it took about 10 minutes for the food to be ready. Instead of the usual pickles or kimchi, it came with crunchy baek-kimchi (white kimchi), which was an unusual but really delicious touch I loved.

The recommended sauce was a yuzu sauce, so I poured it on from the start and mixed everything together well.

How did the pasta salad taste, and was the portion enough?

I twirled up the vegetables, the plump shrimp, and the pasta noodles together for one bite. The pasta's distinct rich garlic savoriness spread through my whole mouth and I couldn't help but say 'amazing.' The shrimp had a really plump texture, and the vegetables were so fresh they seemed just-harvested — the harmony of ingredients was perfect. With the salmon topping added, the portion was seriously huge, and I was stuffed to bursting. Next time, I think even just the base dish without any toppings would be plenty filling!

The pomegranate hibiscus ade wasn't an artificial, cloying sweetness — instead the subtle sweetness of pomegranate mingled with the tart hibiscus to refresh my palate in a healthy, refreshing way. It paired amazingly with the salad.

Returning your tray, and is Singsing Salad Yeouido worth it?

After finishing the meal, you just drop off your tray as-is at the return table set up near the water dispenser inside the store, and that's it, all neat and simple. This place nails all three — health, taste, and a filling portion — so I'd strongly recommend it for busy office workers' weekday lunches, an evening meal on the way home from work, or, like me, a quiet solo salad course in Yeouido.
