Visiting with a baby, the writer ordered the 2-person galbi set (jin-galbi, lamb ribs, and yangnyeom galbi) and cut the tender cuts small enough for the baby to eat too. A Korean BBQ restaurant near Yeouido Station, visited with our baby
We were looking for somewhere to eat as a family in Yeouido and ended up at Yuk Lab. Since we eat out with our baby pretty often these days, finding tasty food matters, but so does finding a place that's not too loud and lets us eat comfortably.
On that front, this Yeouido Station restaurant, Yuk Lab, was pretty satisfying. Above all, having a private room made eating with a baby much easier, and I especially liked that the usual strong meat smell you'd expect from a BBQ place wasn't really there.

Black-toned interior, not your typical BBQ joint vibe
The moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt different from a typical Korean BBQ place. The overall black-toned interior gave it a clean, sophisticated feel. You'd normally picture a BBQ restaurant as a bit rough-and-tumble or chaotic, but Yuk Lab felt calm and modern — good for a family meal, but I could also see it working for coworkers grabbing dinner in Yeouido.

The private room put us at ease
One of the things we were most looking forward to was the private room.
When you're eating with a baby, you inevitably end up worrying about the tables around you, so being able to eat comfortably in a separate space was genuinely reassuring. Even when the baby moved around or made noise a little, it felt much less stressful than a typical open-layout BBQ restaurant.

What about the meat smell?
Personally, when I visit a BBQ restaurant, the meat smell bothers me almost as much as the taste does. Even after a delicious meal, if your clothes or hair reek of meat afterward, it stays on your mind once you're home. But at Yuk Lab that day, the smell didn't linger much even after we finished eating, which I appreciated.
Side dishes and sauces
The banchan (side dishes) and sauces came in a good variety too. The sauces were wasabi, ssamjang, cumin salt, and soy sauce — and for my taste, the slightly spicy soy sauce hit the spot!

The banchan, from basic kimchi to various pickled dishes, all looked fresh — very satisfying!

2-person galbi set vs. Yuk Lab set — which did we pick?
We went back and forth between the 2-person galbi set and the Yuk Lab set, and ended up ordering the galbi set! The difference seems to be skirt steak and yangnyeom galbi — jin-galbi and lamb ribs come with both.
And of course, the most important thing at a BBQ restaurant is the meat! When it arrived at the table, the first thing that caught my eye was the vivid color of the meat. Each cut had a slightly different shade, from bright red lean cuts to ones with fine marbling where the fat was woven through.

Overall, there was no dull or dry-looking color to it — everything looked glossy and moist, appetizing just to look at. Once we put it on the grill, it sizzled away, the surface turning a golden brown, and a savory meaty aroma started rising up. Watching it go from bright red to golden brown was mouthwatering in itself.
Texture and flavor
Taking a bite, I could tell right away the meat quality was solid. The outside had a slightly chewy texture from being grilled to golden brown, while the inside was moist and tender, so the more you chewed, the more you tasted the meat's clean flavor and juiciness. It wasn't tough or dry at all — nice and tender.

Dipped lightly in salt, the meat's savory flavor came through even more clearly, and paired with the sides, it took on a different flavor again — I kept reaching for more.

The subtle meaty aroma paired especially well with the savory, golden-brown crust. As a family who loves meat, we were happy with both the quality and the generous portion. When the plate arrived, it already looked like a solid amount, and once we'd eaten, there was truly nothing to complain about on the quantity front.

Our baby ate the meat well too
What stuck with me most from this visit was our little boss baby's reaction. When we visit restaurants near Yeouido Station with our baby, the seasoning or texture often limits what we can share — but this time, we cut the tender cuts into small pieces and fed them to him, and he ate way more than expected. I thought he'd have a bite or two and be done, but he kept reaching out for more, and we fed him laughing the whole time.

If the meat is too tough, he sometimes spits it out, but this time he ate the tender parts well, which was satisfying to see. Of course, we picked out the mildly seasoned bits for him and fed him little by little. And most of all, having a private room meant we didn't have to worry much about people around us while eating with the baby.

10-second cheese
This is called '10-second cheese' — it melts if you put it on the grill for about 10 seconds. It's nice and salty and goes really well with the meat, so we genuinely loved it!

Lamb ribs, like a baby teether
We left a bit of meat on the bone with the lamb ribs, grilled it, let it cool, and gave it to the baby — he gnawed on it like a teether, haha.

Yangnyeom galbi
The yangnyeom galbi (marinated short ribs) is a bit more seasoned, so if you like something salty, this is definitely the dish for you!

It's also really good wrapped up over rice!

Doenjang jjigae included in the set
The doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) that came with the set arrived bubbling hot, and it was delicious. The baby really loved the king oyster mushrooms in it!
Why we'd go back
After this visit, Yuk Lab felt less like a place that's just about the meat and more like a Korean BBQ restaurant near Yeouido Station where you can enjoy it in a comfortable setting. The stylish black-toned interior plus private rooms made for a good atmosphere, and I was glad the usual BBQ-place smell wasn't so strong.
Above all, the meat looked fresh from the start, and once we ate it, the texture was tender and the juices were there, so the meat itself tasted great. The portions were generous too, so it seems like a solid choice for a day you want to really eat meat in Yeouido. If you're looking for a restaurant near Yeouido Station to visit with a baby like we did, having a private room is a pretty big plus. Our baby ate well, and we got to eat comfortably too, which made it a satisfying family meal out. Yuk Lab is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Yeouido Station we'd love to visit again the next time we're craving meat in Yeouido.
